I am sure you will see various hacks come along... including a flavoured Android ROM customised for the OUYA. ;)

But I am also sure that their own store will grow massively, I am already amazed at how far they have come, so you should soon see just about every Android Game in the OUYA store.
 
Thats where I like the OUYA store idea..

it only has games, none of the other fluff from the Play Store... and most of the stuff on the Play Store is just fluff...
 
I doubt that ouya at $99 makes a cent on the sale price so it makes sense that they have their own store and take a cut from sales.

Otherwise they are running a charity. Also a custom gaming store should be better for gamers overall. Might look at one in a few months, could be a nice toy and at worst is going to be a decent media player.
 
My son bought a PlayStation when he was in Dubai. Arrived home and some bad smells realised it needed 110v to operate :rolleyes:

Which model? Are their chargers really only rated at 110? I know Nintendo have done that in the past.

My Ouya has arrived... 4 days to get from the states to here... oh how I love Amazon.

Amazon reckon it has shipped. So early next week based on others shipping experiences here.
I will be over the moon if this toy does better than my Roku's.

Also nice and small to take away on holiday. Hopefully my son won't make me lug an Xbox with anymore.
 
Got mine powered up last night... Had to get a travel adaptor to start with, until I can find a replacement power unit with SA plug that matches the specs of the one in the box.

Was a bit of a pain in the ass to setup, had to enter a few details, but after that... its working like a dream. XBMC installed no issues, scanned my collection in double time, and works smoothly and beautifully. Will do a more indepth post when I've played around a bit more.
 
My main interest in it is xbmc capabilities especially large mkv files. Also if you can use mce receiver and remote with it?
 
I will let you know about the XBMC thing... its what I will be using predominantly myself.
