Ouya: USD99 game console challenges Xbox, PlayStation

Wow Gary, keen to hear what you think of it. I like the look of it as an XBMC machine, with games as a bonus.

WRT XBMC is there a way to get a Harmony remote to talk to it or do you have to use a controller to move around?

I don't think it's got an IR receiver so you'll need one of those. Alternatively if you have a decent smart phone there are awesome apps out to control XBmC

I wonder if android supports Usb IR recievers?

Also just remember with these that they are aiming to release a new version every year as the new cell phone tech comes out

Ja, and hopefully they will also be updating the firmware/OS Version pretty often

You can apparently pair your existing PS3 and Xbox controllers.

OK, so my OUYA arrived today finally. After spending like two weeks in Customs.
I had to pay R100.00 for the VAT or whatever at the Post Office.

Here are the first pics...

You can "order" it now, but of course none of the official places ship to SA yet it seems.

Been sold out on Amazon for ages, was out last month but they sold the stock within a day.

EDIT: I see its available again now and because I have an Amazon prime subscription they will get it to me for $125. Thats not bad but I'm hoping to get a second hand one locally.

Hmmm looks like Amazon.com will ship to me :)...

Been waiting for a decent Android device to use with XBMC tbh...

Yeah.. not about to pay 100 pounds for this.. that pushes it close to R2k including Shipping, which is mental money.

I'm sure some better prices will come along.
Gonna plug it in tonight when I get home and give it a test run!
