PADS: System-Error: Call disconnected (3)

Using a Redhat box and PPPoE, I get this error....

Anyone with an idea why? The modem just refuses to connect. It connected fine previously but now, well, ja.

Please help[!]

I normally get this error when the tower is down.

Can I assume that you tried to reset the modem?
Which tower do you normally connect too?

Yes, reset it a few times.

Tower is Samrand (or Halfway Gardens) - signal strength is fine...

What gives - going on for a few days now. Sentech said the tower is fine...yeah I know.

Often when they are working on a tower you still see normal signal strength, but just cannot
connect

Will be going there in the morning to see if it connect via Windoze - maybe I will get an error message that means a bit more.

I believe that's the "Network is unavailable, please try again later" message. They've been fiddling with them towers again.

and lets not be fooled, when the call centre says there is nothing wrong with a tower, there is something wrong.. you need to get past those people and speak directly to the people who monitor the tower.. its the only way ull get stuff fixed...

Still no luck - connects fine with USB...Not good for Linux I guess. Can it be a problem at the Tower? Used to work perfectly on the same box :-(

You can use the USB Device driver and see if it works... Perhaps the Ethernet cable you have has been damaged?

Nah, bought a new ETH Cable, no luck. USB connects. Went to a another server in Fourways and it connected first time.

Can it be the way the Tower is setup?

Check your credentials for the PPPoE session. I thin this is the equivalent of a "user already in use" error. You've lost connection and the AAA server hasn't timed you out or something.

Thanks - that may be possible if someone got hold of the Usename and password.

We do have multiple accounts so I will check it out next time.
