I haven't really been focusing on HT as I had a Sony MUTEKI 7.2 system that fulfilled most of my needs. I actually only used it in 2.1 mode for 5 years with the remainder of the system boxed. I sold it 18 months ago.

I've had a NAD 3120 for the last 13 years, it's served me well. I've only played it with some cheap Panasonic bookshelves I bought 2nd hand when I bought the amp. Now there are some buttons missing but it till plays as good as the day I got it. This will become my permanent amplifier in my braai room. I might buy a decent set of bookshelves to go with it later.

Then I recently got hold of a mint condition Panasonic SA-HE75 AV Receiver, a matching 5.1 speaker set (less 1 rear speaker) and a matching DVD/HD recorder. I would like to know with what speakers I could replace the speaker set with? Probably going 2.1 again with floor standers. Any ideas off 1. A suitable set of floor standers to be used alone, and 2. a suitable subwoofer that could be added later.

All info I could find on this amp is that it is 100w per channel. I don't know if it's PMPO or RMS, and that it needs an active sub. And that this amp is prone to go into protect-mode when it is over powering speakers, as in the one's they come with.
