Panyaza Lesufi

I have read the thread. But between me and you, we know that the reason Mr Lesufi is under discussion is because he dared to open his mouth about the injustice that is going on at that high school.

The problem is he opened his mouth and spewed crap before he even knew the full story; and its not like that's a new thing.

Apart from that there are those other delusions of grandeur he has tried to implement miserably.

no apparent reason?

Ok then ngwe23, what things HAS he done for education in Gauteng during his tenure?
Under his watch a more streamlined and consistent school admissions procedure was introduced. Just one example. Also he is doing a stellar job in de-racialising our public schools. I trust that you will reject this because is doesn't conform to your world view.

You mean the school admissions procudure that included an online admissions system that couldn't handle the load (even though they knew EXACTLY what load to expect).

de-racialising our public schools? Do you mind unpacking that complete and utter bollocks for me?

That doesn't really help when it's still 40 kids per a class. Perhaps instead of wasting time on something that should've been done 15 years ago, he should actually look at focusing on getting more schools up and running. Instead of empty plots for years on end, explain to me how a private school can go from nothing to completed in 2 years, while a government school can go from nothing to well nothing in the same period?

More unwarranted attacks on the man for doing his job. He went to the school and listen to ALL stake holders before he supposedly "spewed crap" . Truth be told, his only crime is that he did not bow down at the feet of the neo liberal hence the vitriol.

He was tweeting crap long before he got to the school.

By "wasting time" you mean he should leave the "white spaces" untouched, while other people continue to attend substandard schools. Meh.... My only complaint about Mr Lesufi is that he is not aggressive enough.

What should he be more aggressive on?

e.g? Just because you don't agree with him it doesn't make is crap. It is a different opinion. How old are you? You have zero capacity to think differently.

Oh yeah, much better to either try get blacks into these limited 'white spaces' or displace whites from these 'white spaces' than trying to fix the substandard schools which would offer far more to blacks then getting a few into fromer white schools.

What are "white" spaces? Do you even read what you type? By wasting time I mean wasting time, as instead of actually tackling problems he will rather "fix" the easy things first. The real problem is lack of schools, it's got nothing to do with "white" spaces, I don't give two tosses who is in a school as long as it's not 40 kids per a class and the school is run properly.

Umm, so he countered your point about Panyaza Lesufi getting all sides from the "stakeholders" before spewing crap, and you just ignored it and launch a personal attack on him... intriguing.

Its not exactly proper for a government official to jump on the outrage bandwagon before he has even seen what the facts are himself.

What should he be more aggressive on?
Of cleaning our schools off of pre colonial attitudes which suggest that the black person HAS TO adapt to European norms and value system in the land of his birth.

What norm or value system do black people have a problem with? Uniforms? Respect? Excellence? Honesty?

Which is it?

So you don't have an issue with the fact that he expressed outrage, you are merely concerned about the timing? I am not that gullible. I can read you like a book. You just cannot stand anyone who stands for the rights of the oppressed, especially if the oppressed also happen to be black.

What specific pre-colonial attitudes are you referring to?
