Need help in resetting alarm code in my new residence i moved in the alarm system is a paradox the main box board is a spectra 1738 the people who lived there before cant remember the alarm code and i phoned a security company they said i need to replace the whole system. Which i can not think is the only way possible anyone who maybe have experience with this systems?

If installer lock is not enabled then you should be able to remove power(AC and batt) short PG1 to Zone 1 and reconnect power. Not sure if this resets the installer code though but worth a try i guess.

PS: Remove everything else from Zone 1 and the PG1 terminals

Have read about this one just a bit confused to how to use the installer code if it works to create a new alarm code i have disconnected battery and ac power, connected jumper on the board switched it back on and removed jumper the continuous beeping stopped on the pad but the alarm lock is still on and need to enter 4 digit code to unlock pad

The 1738EX is quite an old panel - pre 2005
If you cannot get it to work, you only need a SP6000 and keypad. Everything else will work 100%.
Dealer price is R1700
Does ENTER 0000 not get you into Program mode?
If so, go to location 127 and make sure 4 is off
I'm afraid that if the panel is locked, you are stuffed

I have replaced dozens of 1738 panels due to the same problem

Let me know if you'd like a SP6000 kit
