You've still got the USB2 and I've heard (granted it was from a windows user) that USB2 is just as good

If its a system hang it should act the same way regardless of if it is on the internal or the external drive - have you tried copying it back to the internal to see if it behaves there?I thought about this whole thing on my way to work this morning. It is quite possible that it is a question of WinXP just hanging (like Windows OS systems do).
Next step for me will be to recreate the WinXP VM, but directly on the Firewire External. Maybe that will help, I don't know, but it is worth a try.

hmm - v.21 - dont recall him being anything special.Hmm, I like bwana v.21 the most, please bring him back
You know, if I could find another one, I probably will replace this one, but I have yet to see another 800 model ... yes yes, I know I don't even have the cable, but still![]()

Seeing as you're keen on having a portable external why not keep the one you have for use on the road and then get a fullscale one for home where you can stick in a 500gb drive and keep everything backed up.
I liked the idea of containment. What happens in [-]Vegas[/-] Windows should stay in windowsClosure of this thread (for me in any case): VM under Firewire running for 39 minutes now ... all seems sorted.
And on the subject on Parallels: The nicest feature of the new Beta is the fact that you can drag and drop between Mac OSX and the VM ... works very nicely (I think BobJones was inquiring about this)

Congrats on getting it sorted.![]()
Yeah - I heard (saw on digg actually) that rumour. Probably why I'm reluctant to buy it now.Good going Landy, glad its working properly for you now. Thanks for the info too - I might give this new beta a go.
Anyone else hear the rumours that Apple may buy Parallels and include it in Leopard?
