Only saw this thread today...the tips Gdiza has been giving are great!

I never really focused on getting my drivers, until recently, when I realised I dint want to redo my learners. I had about 4 weeks when left on my learners, before I finally got a booking for 4 days later. In those 4 days I did so much driving, because I hadnt been on lessons for about 6 months...In the end, I passed! And my learners expired yesterday :p

Incase I forget this thread, good luck for your test on the 20th Fern9do :p

I wonder if Fern9do passed ?
I have no idea.
I started going for lessons on monday, what a complicated story! It will take me a while to get used to it! But its not going to bad. Hopefully I will book by the end of this month or early next month.

Nah, depending on your teacher, after 3/4 lessons, you should be doing it so well.
The point of doing lots of lessons is to get the whole thing IN YOUR HEAD so that you do it naturally.
If you don't do it naturally (or try too) then you will fail.

Lets bet on four lessons. My third is on friday, and my fourth on monday.

Get practice for the yard test by getting your car onto an open grass field and practice doughnuts, reverse turns, handbrake turns and other crazy things that you could never do on the road. Then when you are in the yard, your spacial awareness will be excellent and you shouldn't have any problems.

When you hit the road test, pull off rediculously slowly, drive 20-30km per hour in the 60 zones, brake very early before a turn and by the time you get half way around the first block he/she will be so gatvol that they will want you to circle the block and go straight back to the testing station in order to avoid spending another super boring minute in the car with you.

Saying it "be calm" is the hardest thing EVER!
I don't want to be mean PetrolHead, but it's stupid advice - I say that because, someone can tell you to TRY, and you can try all you want, but on the day, you're going to more nervous than anything, it's a huge step in many people's life.

I have no advice except try your BEST to be calm and maybe take a calming tablet or 2 before the test (give it time to kick in) and that might help.

I took 2/3 on the day, but I don't know if helped to be honest, but maybe it helped.

Hi guys,

I do my first and hopefully last driving test on the 12th of December.
I'm not sure if it's too early or what not, but I'm not exceptionally nervous.

I've been doing my driving lessons with Assist-u-drive and they have been going well (according to me) and my driving has come a long way since I started about 2 months ago.

I would love to hear any hints and tips from you guys as I really do not want to fail but I have faith in myself and I shouldn't fail but with that said, ANY hints and tips would be great.

My test is in Hillstar and I haven't done any driving in that area (all my driving and such as been in CBD central) but I plan to do some driving in that area closer to the day of the test (like a week or so)

I feel very confident with my actual driving.
When it comes to my yard stuff like 3 point parking, alley docking and parrellel then I also feel okay but need to just practise more.

excuse me, skipped to the end of the thread. Grow your beard really long, you'll pass no worries.

If it's your first time and you fail... ce la vie - it happens to MOST people.

I enjoy driving, but I appreciate my license more than probably anyone because of how long it took for me to get it.
