Paying so much for games

Stuff's already expensive as it is. Not gonna be a retard and buy new if I can get something cheaper legally.

Same principle applies to Hardware sales

Person B would not buy hardware that is not sufficient to run game at an acceptable level of performance /graphics .
So he buys Person A`s previous gen high spec card to run game at acceptable levels. Thus giving Person A the opertunity to buy latest gen again at a reduced financial knock.

Unacceptable. All purchases must be new according to Bryn. Person B should get over his entitlement mentality and save up to buy a new card.

You always buy your car/house/basically-everything new then?

A game can be labelled as a product which have second hand value. And all products with some value will sell. Nothing the original producer can do about it. Nada nothing zilch. Why should game creators be treated any different from car manufacturers?

Yep! As long as developers have recovered their costs, they're as happy as a fly on shit. Bryn is obviously trolling.

BS!

I have both second hand car and second hand games. I also have a second hand xbox controller and a few other products I bought on gumtree/cape adds...

The sad fact is that I cannot afford either of the car or games new. :(
Does it make me a criminal? Hell no.

In your way of reasoning everything second hand should be avoided as it "harms" the original manufacturer who in your opinion could have sold the same items at original prices. So lets ban Gumtree, Junkmail, Cape Adds, Cash Crusaders etc etc then?

Well, I would definitely support your petition to ban Gumtree (full of skelms and scammers) and Cash Crusaders (professional scammers)

I don't think he is actually - I think he genuinely believes that buying 2nd hand software is a bad thing.

The fact that his belief is somewhat, erm, delusional (maybe?) is neither here nor there.

@Bryn, I know that a couple of us have been taking the p i s s a bit (well a lot actually), but in all seriousness, think about what Zyraz has said - maybe it will help you to ease your conscience.

Nvidia still makes money from you buying a lower-end graphics card, they make no money from you buying a high-end, second hand-graphics card. You're depriving those poor computer engineers of money that is rightfully theirs, money that they can spend on R&D to make even better hardware.

IF I recall correctly Nvidia makes their money from their workstation GFX Cards, the advances in made by R&D are then applied to the GTX range.

Although I stand to be corrected..

No, no, you're confused - the dev still gets a cut (albeit minuscule in value) compared to 2nd hand where the dev gets nothing

I just bought Batman: AK for even better price that before. R350 and still in excellent condition off Gumtree.

So now what?

If you're watching Netflix during "Netflix and chill", you're doing it wrong.

Stuff's already expensive as it is. Not gonna be a retard and buy new if I can get something cheaper legally.

It's not technically legal though. Publishers (surprise surprise) agree with Bryn. If you read the fine print on those license agreements that nobody ever gives a **** about, it says you are not allowed to resell any games/movies etc. and they are fighting tooth and nail to get rid of the secondhand market.

How are they gonna do that? Good luck with that.

They aren't. But they will try. There have been lolsuits in the US against companies like Gamestop etc trying to ban them from selling second-hand games.

They will spend lots of money trying and failing then. Here's an idea why not use that money to develop a new idea or you know give it to you shareholders for lulz
