PayPal stops WikiLeaks account

I'm closing my paypal account and sending them a letter stating that the reason for my account closure is their subjective actions with relation to WikiLeaks after pressure from the US government. I hope enough people do the same for them to take notice.

Very admirable thing you've done.
I don't plan on using Paypal in the near future - only reason I haven't closed my account is just incase I really really REALLY need something, I might need to have that account.

I find it interesting that when Zuma is charged he is inocent till proven guilty. When goverment want they cry national security. Wikileaks has not been charged or their action found to be illigal. SA is blocked from wikileaks on what grounds. Just think what would happen whit the proposed protection of information bill

SA has not blocked Wikileaks. You are misinformed. Not to mention quite clueless.

As I said before this is all still being decided by the US attorney general. Remember, they have to let the court case against the soldier who leaked the docs run its course before they can take any other action. But trust me... there will be action.

The US has extradition treaties with many countries in the world.

Do some reading, educate yourself, take some night classes, read more widely, browse the internet for information. Don't remain ignorant your entire life.

Sooo ... PayPal admitted the US government leaned on them for this. And if Wikileaks is not found guilty in the next 6 months, they re-activate the account. Wonder if I should believe that or not.

They may not have written a letter... but I am sure there were some phone calls.

Anyway, this is war no doubt.... and every patriotic American based company (or those that do extensive business with the USA) will be expected to do their patriotic duty. To assume anything else is naive.
