PC Clicking

before touching your hardware, open the windows event viewer, open run then type eventvwr. expand windows logs then choose system.

on the right hand side, choose filter current log and select critical and error.

If you see any errors that says disk, it will give you and indication of what the issue is.
 
Probably the hard drive, but regardless, just buy an SSD.
It will feel like a new computer.
 
I know that "clickety" sound all to well. Currently have 1 hdd thats been doing it for almost 3 years now. Haven't stopped working. Quite annoying... when I had a OS installed on it, on some occasions the OS freezes up and you start hearing the "clickety" right after just to find that after a few seconds everything starts responding again...I decided to rather install my OS on a different drive and keep the clicking one for storage.

I do the same.
The old 320Gb I have also clicks and whirs, but it's not freezing or has any other issues. SMART stats are perfect as well..
