Howzit guys

Have an issue with the kids pc.. when he boots up the machine, it gets stuck on an Intel Board screen or Intel Main Board screen. Not sure if he shuts it down again, but it will then boot in fine again.

Is there something we need to look out for, or check, as to why that pops up upon boot up..

Check for an error on that screen, likely something like CMOS battery error or press F1 to continue, something along those lines..

No start up beep errors? I have a lot of experience with fixing older PCs at work, and in most instances that I have encountered similar issues, it was the RAM modules that just had to be re-seated.

Thanks for the replies..it might be the Ram, as we did encounter some issues with the slots not clipping the ram into place properly

how many people actually have the PC speaker still connected?

Depending on which chipset era you are referring to, a fair number of motherboards have the speaker soldered onto the board, and any decent installer would have the removable one plugged into the front panel pins.
Unless it was home built :-P, I did have my little speaker connected :-)
