- As I said GPU will be upgraded to a better card when im richer :P and as machine gets older and i need more of a boost.

Which of those is the better card for now? I dont have money for 8800GT for now, so no wisecracks :P

If you're just going to be playing DotA, then why not just get a very cheap card until you spend more on a decent one?

Such as:

too true actually mr pot, think i'll go for your option and get something snazzy later or maybe a secondhand 8800gt or when the price drops.

Looking at getting this rig in the next week or so... - can you get mac os x to work on this rig - want to test that out...
 
Hmmm... why run such a beast on a dodgy PSU? R199 for a 500W sounds a little shaky to me. Especially one with an 8M fan!
 
PSU will not hack it, seems a very generic cheap brand.

No point getting some nice parts and losing them to a crappy PSU :)

Had a Aopen for 3 years never pop'ed :) but still R199... :confused:

lol you got lucky, have only one aopen psu left in all my systems (15 or so) and it seems to be doing fine. Most of the others have had an aopen in them but they all died :p

Best week was 2 died on Monday, 1 on Wed and another on Thurs. My supplier was smiling especially when i started using better quality ie more expensive brands :)

lol, just remember not to g ooverkill and get a 900Watt when 500 is just fine :o
 
Can't really say i've had a generic psu fail on me ever... that being said dont feel like paying out 700 or so for a psu when i still dont have a decent gpu that needs power...
