Good day

I do realize that this topic has been discussed before in here, but the threads are old and I need advice on current hardware please.
I need to upgrade CPu, M/Board, Memory. Current screen card is a Nvidia 650Ti, but will upgrade that later

I need to play the new Battlefield 5 and then the new Metro Excodus, and the upcoming Bordelands in November 2019
My budget is R10 000.00. Please can someone advise on either Intel or AMD.

Thank you

Christopher

Hi, you should probably check at evetech.

Currently theres a decent special for R9999, will give you an i7 9700k (latest i7 processor) as well as a decent motherboard and 8gb of 2666mhz ddr4 ram. It also includes a cpu cooler.

Heres the link:

Hope you get what you're looking for.

Wait for Ryzen 3xxx and see what's on offer. There's a rumoured 15% IPC performance increase and higher clocks.

Right now this will do the job

R2779 AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHZ 6-CORE 19MB AM4
R1559 ASRock B450 PRO4 AMD Promontory B450 Ryzen Socket AM4 ATX Desktop Motherboard
R1799 G.Skill F4-3200C16D-16GVKB Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200MHz CL16 1.35V Black Desktop Memory
R4999 Zotac Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 Ti ZT-T16610F-10L 6GB GDDR6 192-bit PCI-E 3.0 Desktop Graphics Card
R11 136 TOTAL

Wootware has the Ryzen 5 2600 for R3099 if you wanna shop from one place.

Benchmarks for battlefied 5 & metro exodus 1080p/1440p can be found below at 6:07 & 6:59,

You did not mention what size MB your case takes or what resolution you game at. That GPU requires one 8-pin pci-e power connector from a psu rated at 450W.

As the others said wait for ryzen 3000. Announcement coming end of the month with hard launch month after.
Will either be able to upgrade to a newer platform or get a big discount on the previous gen.

Thank you to each one that replied, really appreciate it. I'll will then wait to see about R3, but meanwhile will also check the I7?. Thank you very much
