I'd say handheld games are to expensive for what they offer. They want me to pay modern console prices for n64 or PS1+ quality apps? I think not . . .

Lets see

So a PS3 will cost you the same as a PC,
you can't LAN with it,
you can't upgrade it when it gets old,
your games are double the price.
You won't have as many titles as you will have available on PC or Xbox.
You have to settle for a game as you get it, bugs and all. (no patching or mods)

hmmm

What were we arguing about again?

LOL @ Macgyver beautifully put :D

and for the other peoples...
I say my dear watson who do we see on top of the poll leading O so gracefully....?
Say It... Come on say it with me.....who...who...
THE PC!!!:cool:

Um, do yourselves a favor and don't compare PC and console graphics at any point. It seems like the most logical thing to do but it isn't.

Console is a closed box system and because of that you can get away with things that you can't on the PC. (The people who own 5200/6200's and X300/X600s have seen to that <_<)
What's in the XBOX360 is in no way comparable to any graphics chip we have today to buy. It's in many ways ahead of what we have right now (unified shader architecture, flat memory space, unified memory space, etc...) at the same time will be behind what we will have by next week this time (XBOX360 is not DX10 feature capable and never will be)

This is not new, console and PC graphics overlap each other.
Original XBOX housed NV2A which was modified Geforce3. Despite that GF3 is from 2001 (half DX8.0/8.1), the XBOX got Halo2 already, but this will only see the light of day under DX10 for PC's :(
Yet FarCry of 2003 looks crap on original XBOX (No HDR, parallex mapping etc...) but 2004's 6800 can do all of this :)

Closed system behaves vastly different from PC but behaves in a uniform way across all units of the same console. Leave the graphic element out of it because we shouldn't even be comparing them at all.

BTW: While PS3 RSX is nVidia G70 only with 128-bit external data bit width and 8 raster outputs, it's tied very closely to the Cell CPU and it's SPU's so you can't lift numbers from the GeForce 7800 and extrapolate useful information about RSX.

What you can say about PC"s though is that high resolutions are cheaper. You can play 1280x1024 on a R600 17" CRT. To play the same res on console you need R10K+ LCDTV :(

BTW voted for consoles :D

1.) Ease of playing

Console = press power button...open tray...insert disc...play
PC = Same as above but...check that system requirements meets...check for updated drivers...make sure you have the latest game patch installed to avoid compatibility issues....check your direct x version....make sure you have enough free space....etc...

Console = 1 Point
PC = 0 Point

okay i know im a bit late, but i just started reading this and id like to add some stuff.

First all those PC requirements are once off and then only happed in a while again. You dont even realy have to have the latest drivers, it doesnt really make all that much difference, for every game i play its a matter of double clicking in the icon, and it start much quicker than a console, no DVD to find and keep safe.

And how many people dont have enough space, or are stupid enough to buy a game that you dont even meat the min spec fo, as in its totally unplayable?

2.) Graphics

We have not even seen PS3 yet so let's work on Xbox 360...
Well to make this one easy a decent display card is gonna cost you the same as the 360 console

Console = 1 Point
PC = 0 Point

But you know that in a few months wit DX10 PCs will start to take the lead again, and in a year or two mid rage cards will beat aXbox360 or PS3, while you will still have to wait another 5 or so years for a new console.
And the price, well honestly the price of games can make up a good R3000 graphics card pretty quickly.

Ag okay ive got tired already.. But a PC is used for so much more than gaming and has a very lively social side to it, but also leads some people to kill themselves because its so unsocial... but thats only stupid Asians, we dont have to worry about that.

but seriously, I guess I just prefer a PC for gaming, I could never go back to a console.. its just t o weird for me after years of PC gaming and selling my PS1 about 8 years ago.

and why do one need a bluray drive? games and stuff comes out on dvd at max....mostly cd's....so i dont see the need for n bluray???:confused: :cool: :eek: :D

Maybe not now, but you will in the future. A few years back games was only available on Floppy, then stiffy, then CD, now DVD. So I can't see why you don't think bluray games will be available in the near future.

erm... honestly now. by the time games come out on bluray it will be cheap to get it. It was the same with DVD's. and as well games aren’t big enough. if you have a pc game it gets compressed to fit to disk and then u unpack it ( install) by the time we are using 3 DVD's for a game. bluray drives will be like our DVDRW that we have today

PS3 and Xbox360 you will be able to LAN
That's why PS3 uses Cell Cpu's :p
Plantinum and Exclusives (which are usually the best games) ranges between R60 - R250...sounds fair to me...
The PS3 can play all PS2 and PS1 games aswell...
..err....Xbox has Live....and PS3 will have a similar online service...

Sorry bro....PS3 for Me!!! :D
