[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

MY connections are hdmi 1 enhanced hdmi settings that gives me ultra hd 4k @ 60hz/ 60fps (12bit) I use a ps4pro (that's the max settings for Apex legends even on the ps5)
Ah okay thought maybe you were using 120hz as there was a bit of a wash out on it

What do you mean? I get a solid 60fps that drops to a minimum of 58fps if ever @ 4k don't use hdmi 2.1, just use hdmi 2.0 4k@ 60hz

On 3 and 4 it's 120hz, so I have my Xbox on that and set it to 120hz but it was a bit washed out at first.

Must say don't think I'm good enough at fps at 120hz. More like for pro's

Anyone else got a recent update on their Hisense OLED? Seems like a VIDAA UI update with new DSTV stream and a more modern interface

No, updated about 2weeks ago. Any problems with the new update??

Was about 2 weeks ago or so, haven't checked any apps

Anyone knows how to solve color banding on hisense u7h 55 inch

The reviews from the UK sites indicate that it's good and I've also read that Hisense is using the same panels for all the TVs.
It's not the panels that is the issue, are they using the same processors and operating systems?

I bought the 75inch U8k from takealot so can confirm that it's the same processor as uk (pentonic 700 per youtube app settings so same as what Vincent Theo showed in his review on hdtvtest) and I counted the same number of dimming zones at 1056 which matches rtings website.

Big issue though is that this is made in South Africa (says so on the box which looks different to overseas) so they've used a different cheap panel....I read the avsforum discussions overseas and guys were raving about quality of 75inch ADS pro panel.....Even though takealot specs are for the 2000:1 contrast ratio ADS pro panel, this is clearly a different cheap SA panel variant. The IPS glow and viewing angles are shockingly bad so as usual we're getting raw deal in SA.

I would avoid the SA U8k like the plague. Here's a picture at the same viewing angle with u8k on the left and samsung q9fn on the right (which has va panel with alledgedly worse off axis response). Both are in most accurate filmmaker modes...the ips glow and haze on the U8K is a joke at the price they're charging. Low light hdr scenes are almost unwatchable.

2nd pic is on axis where it's better but still still looks awful.

That really does look bad. I have the 65 u8h and have no complaints. It's obviously lower spec than us version but for the price I paid for it am very happy. viewing angles are actually pretty decent in my opinion, certainly don't have the issues you seem to have. Could it be a faulty unit perhaps? Maybe return it

Hello does anybody else with a U7H have the same issue?

I bought the 85U7H a few weeks ago and am happy with the brightness and colours etc. My issue is with the Automatic Light sensor. If you enable it the brightness dims or brightens with the amount of ambient light in the room, all good and makes sense. I have this setting turned off and every time I turn the TV on it is super dim. I have to go to the automatic light sensor setting and toggle it ON (even in a pitch dark room), wait a few seconds and then the screen goes to my brightness level then I quickly turn it off again else it starts to dim the screen again.....until the next time I turn the TV on and I have to repeat the process again.

I have contacted the useless Hisense support, who after ignoring me for over a week, until I spammed their support, finally replied saying this is how the TV was designed, you can't actually turn the automatic light sensor off and I just have to live with it. I find that impossible? How can a setting be included that can be turned on and off but doesn't actually work? Surely a TV can't be made where you have to adjust the brightness each time you use it. Hisense can you give me an actual answer?
