[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

I've got the 65" / 65K720 / curved, very good TV for the price. If you want to show what a 4k tv can do then go buy Blue Planet II on Blu-Ray. The tv is not HDR, only the "m" class ones are, they weren't out yet when I bought this one, not too stressed as the picture quality increase is minimal. I have noticed a bit of digital noise around small fast moving objects on screen, but that is probably my sharpness and noise reduction settings that I can fiddle with. Hisense make very good tv's :)

No only the 7/8/9 series are, the M series is a model from 2016.

Who can say no to a 4 year warranty?

Yeah but I registered online and IIRC they were suppposed to mail me back after processing the free 4th year extension. That was 7 weeks ago. Right now I have no proof of that warranty, my purchase documents are good for 3 years only.

Anyone had a response?

Hi-Sense FAILS

Hey guys,

Hi-Sense 43" N3000UW UHD with HDR, bought it today for the Mother-in outlaw and I think I should have done a little more research.

The UHD performance is very good, the HDR works within Netflix, haven't tried the Xbox yet. Sound is absolutely terrible but you can live with it.Setup was very easy but when i got to the APP STORE this is when things changed dramatically.

Here's the belter, the APP STORE, if you can call it an APP STORE, its pathetic. No Plex, No Showmax, even your sub standard apps aren't available just a bunch of Russian, Korean, Greek and Bollywood channels that stream (crap) low budget movies or series in SD without subs, so a whole lot of something that shows me nothing!!!

As far as im concerned I've bought a Netflix paper weight with YouTube branding. If anybody knows how to crack this TV let me know, it is suppose to have the Vidaa OS system on it but its got something else called NETRANGE, which is designed in Germany believe it or not.(absolute crap). So if you want a really decent screen for your consoles or PC, yes excellent choice, but if you are looking for a "SMART TV" take a wide burth, skip it.

This is defiantly not a "SMART TV" it leans more towards a "DUMB TV"!!!

NB* I also own a Hi Sense 49"K300 UW .......got all the apps that I needed(including Plex and Showmax) performs like a dream, never had a days trouble with it very happy!

There is no "app store" it's basically just web wrappers.

But if you have an Xbox connected to it why even bother with the Smart TV nonsense?

I can tell you that more research wouldn't have helped, only more money. In that price range everyone else also sucks.

Don't buy a TV for it's sideline functions, but it for it's main purpose....being a TV in which regard the N3000 is actually great.

As for the sound issue, did you wall mount it? Because that's probably why then as the speakers are down firing and have nothing to bounce off if wall mounted.

@Sauron ,thanks for the comment, as i said its not for me but for my mother in-law and believe me she doesn't know what an xbox is. The sound issue, I have resolved, gonna run it through the little HIFI system she has. The TV is sitting on a TV display unit, just gotta remember where I put the cables! .As for the SMART functionality back to the drawing board , chromecast , android tv, etc; etc, what would your suggestion be, the app requirements that are a must are Netflix, YT,Plex and Showmax.

Thanks again

My old man has the same TV which is why I know.

Personally I put the Telkom Lit box in there that I got for free but even they is compromised.

If money was no question you cannot lose on an Apple TV.

It's expensive sure but there simply isn't a better device.

It does everything and does it well and reliably. Without any hacks or sideload bull**** and compromises.

Also much easier to understand for the older folk.

Can't comment sadly.

I've been disappointed by the Android experience over and over again so I'll rather just pay the money for Apple TV and know what I'm getting is guaranteed.

Also when I need to jump through hoops to get something that isn't supported in my country officially then I already rather use the product that is supported instead.

The fact that a Chromecast requires a phone or other device to work is a major failure of my needs.

I'm in the process of swapping the Android TV box currently connected to my Hisense with a small Windows 10 PC.

My Minix Neo U1 running Android is still rocking hard. Tons of options, whether Kodi or third party apps, such as Terrarium TV and PTV Sports. One of the best things I currently own.

Why? It's filling a specific need without having to pay for a full media device. Maybe there are people who just want to cast and not much else...

Anyone know which Hisense UHD (50" and up) are USB 3.0 compatible?

I am disappointed in my first purchase

So I decided to take the plunge into the Hisense world.. They have been around for some time now and have 'matured', they have some great looking TV's and great panels to match.. Let's not forget the 3 year warranty which becomes 4 if you register your TV..

I went ahead and got the hx40n2177f.. It's for the bedroom and won't do much other than DSTV and Netflix, so feature wise it's fine.. I pull it out the box at home, get it on my wall mount and switch it on.. I am very impressed with the picture quality, it is fantastic.. around 20 or so minutes in the TV switches itself off and on again.. Weird, I think but I shrug it off.. A minute or so later, switches itself off and on again and continues endlessly doing this around every minute or so..

I record this odd behavior with my camera so I can show it to the guys at the Hisense repair center when I take the TV to them.. Sadly, regardless of whether or not they see the video I made, they need to see this happen for themselves before they can take any further action i.e repair/replace.. They did ask whether I wanted to repair or replace and I said I wanted a new unit..

As far as I am concerned this is an out of box failure and within 7 days I would expect a replacement unit when I specifically show you the evidence of it malfunctioning..

I am willing to give Hisense a chance and waiting on the repair center to finish their testing..

TV on and off issue

I had the exact same problem with my 40"! It worked fine out of the box, after 6 months it just shuts off and won't go on again.

Booked in for repair, comes back with a vague explanation "electronic issue, main board replaced".

Works fine for a few more months, then the on and off thing that you describe started. It would work okay for a day, then spazz out for hours. Took it back to Hisense (with video evidence of course). Of course when I got there and they tested it the TV worked fine, but I showed the technician the video and he said nah, it shouldn't do that. So he replaced the main board again. Took all of 15 minutes.

That was 4 months ago now. Other than those troubles, it's been a good TV though. And Hisense honoured the warranty, that's important.

I hope you come right.

Hmm do they always expect you to bring it in? Or is that just for certain sizes.

Samsung at least sent them to my house...many many times.
