[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

i got and update as soon as i connected to internet , dont recall the version but it did speed up menus.
no improvement on upscaling or panel consistancy
The OTA update is only for the vidaa software. It does not update the firmware.

Mine did the same thing when I switched it on but only once I spoke to Hisense agent he mentioned that they don't do firmware updates OTA.

Any idea how we can get this firmware please?
Not sure I'm allowed to share the link sent but for the greater good see link shared by Hisense.

Make sure you format the USB drive using FAT32, otherwise TV will reboot but won't update.

Thanks for this. Just a cautionary. Remember we are load shedding.

Got myself the Q8600 and quality is amazing.

However, when watching Netflix Dolby Vision content I am unable to edit the picture settings as its greyed out.

I can only change picture mode to Dolby Bright or Dolby Dark.

Anyone having the same issue?

Also got mine to this week. Yes blown away by the picture. Have not had the time to go into the detailed settings yet but will report back. Have you tried playing with Standard and Enhanced mode?

You need to do the firmware update I shared earlier. It adds a Dolby vision custom setting and also allows you to update the vision bright settings. However not all settings are can be changed.

How long does process take if I may ask. Don't want to brick TV if power goes out mid install :cautious:

Hisense really needs to improve their process of communicatin

To be honest I can't really remember as it took me a while to figure out that I need to format USB FAT32 before I got it to update.

I would say that you will need a good 15-20 minutes to do the update.

Download, format USB fat32, copy into root folder (I had nothing on my dribe), plug into USB slot on tv, go to software update on tv menu, it will ask to reboot, say yes and it should reboot into the update screen. That should be it.
Cool will try later today.

I seem to remember it being designed that way. If you aren't in Netflix Dolby Vision, you can change the settings. I think it's because those bright or dark settings control them.

Just got home to do the update provided here and as I switched the TV on, an OTA update came through J11 or something along those lines.

No clue what it does or changes though.

Seems like my Q8600 has firmware upgrade option in menu. Is this for TV firmware or VIDAA firmware?

Do you only get these if you are connected to a dish or antenna ?

Display settings/Windows HD Color settings/Play HDR games and apps

That should trigger TV
I tried this, but as soon as I trigger it on, it loses signal and switches back to off. Also none of the Hisense Apps will play sound via HDMI ARC Audo.

Does anyone who owns a Q8600 please help. When I cast YouTube videos from my cell to the TV it's not smooth, the video judders a bit every few seconds. Is anyone else having this issue?

Have you turned on clear motion in picture settings?
