[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Dear Users & Support Team,

I have 65A6100 Hisense Smart TV, however i am unable to find latest firmware with Showmax and DSTV applications. I cant find Showmax app on Vewd Store. Please confirm if any one can help ?

HARD PASS.
I bought one in Jan, after a week it slowed down to the point of being unusable.
Had to hard reset it every day for it to work.

Logged a service call and they sent a tech out. Not sure what he did cos I was at work and there was no report to accompany the fix. It worked fine after that, for two months.

Been struggling since April with the same issue. But now the TV also randomly turns itself on as well.

I logged another service request.

All I want is to have a TV that I can turn on and use.

If anyone has any suggestions for a fix, please feel free to share.

@Hisense SA If you have a firmware update for this, please drop me a message.

Hisense customer care sent out a tech last week.
He suggested changing the motherboard and came back today to do that. Everything seems ok for now but lets see how it goes after a few weeks.

Well, two days later and the TV no longer switches on. I've now sent a 3rd service request.

I bought the 50b7200uwTV last week.
It is running Android 8.
Everything seems to be working fine except cannot read or assign permissions to read my NTFS drive using SolidExplorer. Same I cannot access these drives with VLC and or MXPlayer.
It can only access FAT32 drives.
The NTFS drives can be access only with the mediaplayer that comes pre-installed.
Anybody else having this issue?

Build OTT1.180130.001.
Anyone where I can get a newer firmware?

I got a build from the Hisense Service desk that afterwards seems to be exactly the same as the one that was on my TV. Anyway, my NTFS problem has been sorted!:D:D:D

Link and instructions I received:

Please follow the below steps to update the software on your TV.

Copy the software file (.Bin File) to an empty USB that has been formatted to FAT32
Insert the USB into the TV
Press the settings button on your Remote
Go to settings
Go to Support
Go to Software Update
Go to update via USB
The Tv Will then Reboot.
When the TV switches on again:

Go to settings > Support > Restore to Factory Default

The TV will reboot again and when it starts up again you will be required to complete the setup wizard. Once done leave the TV on and connected to the internet for about five minutes. Then, unplug the TV from the power source and leave it unplugged for 2 minutes.
When you have switched the TV back on, Leave it on and connected to the internet for another 5 minutes and then test the apps.

So does anybody know when we will get the new Hisense models in SA?

I'm in the market for a decent 65 or 75 inch TV and hoping we can get the equivalent of the H9G here soon.

I have a HE65A6100UWTS and need to update my TV because I see it's horribly outdated - currently showing it's on version J0603

I see marcgottschalk uploaded a firmware file to his drive that appears to be newer (I think)

Can anybody with a 6100UWTS confirm whether this is the latest firmware file for this version. If not, does anybody have a link to the latest firmware?

I've PM'd HiSense a while back, but they seems to have gone AWOL.

OK, I never looked properly and it seems I'm on the latest available firmware for this TV, at least based on what's been posted in this thread.

One issue that still annoys the **** out of me is the fact that this damn TV forgets my WiFi login details every ****ing day.

Has any of you encountered this issue, and if so, how did you fix it?

It gets annoying when I have people over and want to watch something on TV, and then first have to type in my WiFi password and everybody can see what it is...which then forces me to change it when my guests leave.

I'm curious if HiSense TV's are worth the money... I mean don't they come with what would seem like a lot of issues? I read a lot of mixed reports online so I am asking...

What models are really worth it?

Im mostly happy with my TV after the last firmware update. Their customer support line has however convinced me to never buy one of their products again.

Picture wise they're great, its when it comes to the software that they start feeling a bit kuk. I got the 55B7100 and the Netflix kept bombing out, and I had this weird issue of youtube video sound going out of sync while watching videos. Anyways I got fed up and gave it to my grandparents for their DSTV watching and got myself the LG 49UM7340 which is light-years ahead of the Hisense IMO.

what I thought... thanks for the confirmation

base model? that like the entry level cheaper ones?

which model WOULD you buy? 60" or greater

Yep, entry level models. They lack power, resources, software, etc. etc. Now that mine's got the newer firmware it's running a lot better, but still not what I would call "great". I don't have experience with better models, but I believe most of these issues are related to only the cheaper ones.

Quick question and perhaps it has been asked/answered here before.
I have the Hisense Q8600 and to my knowledge, in the US this would be the H9F model which runs Android TV, would we not be able flash the US firmware on this TV to get rid of the VIDAA OS?

This is whilst I am waiting form my 2019 Nvidia Shield TV Pro to arrive.

What is the best picture configuration for Q8600. Just received it and want to get the full picture potential out if it.

Hi

Saw several post/reviews on comparing the b8000 with samsung ru7100 and most were favourable towars the b8000. However it seems like response time is an issue. Any personal feedback on this

Tx

Are the actual displays on Hisense any good these days?
When I last bought a TV - around 10 odd years back - I ended up with a Samsung because Hisense panels were terrible.
Im not interested in smart features on a TV, I use a Roku for all of that stuff. Seen too many TV's that get abandoned for updates.

Just (tried to) install a brand new 55B7100UW for a school yesterday, and ran into a strange isssue I have never seen with a TV before.

It picks up every single Wi-Fi network in the vicinity, except the one that the school uses.

All other devices connect to the Wi-Fi network from the classroom without issue, so the Wi-Fi router is set up correctly, and it doesn't seem to be a weak signal problem.

Maybe check the supported wifi bands in the 2.4ghz range?

Failing that I would suggest doing a hard reset on both the router(assuming you have login details for isp etc) and the TV then try again.
