[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

For a single client solution sure.

But if you have a few clients in your house nothing beats Plex.

My home media consumption became a lot simpler the day I installed Plex due to the ease of use in a multiple server / consumer environment.

Oh how little you know.

You have it completely backwards. Kodi is the one that is complex.

I tend to agree, one server for plex that propagates all your devices. On Kodi you have to manually set everything up EVERY SINGLE TIME

Same here, got mine in December 2014, but I have no need to upgrade it. Works fine with an Android TV box connected to it.

I've have no need, I just want one after my buddy got the 65M7000 :-)

Netflix? Nee dankie, ek kan al daai stront op torrents kry.

Showmax is the only streaming service I pay for.

Serious question: Does the quality of ShowMax not annoy the hell out of you? I canceled ShowMax cause it was like going back to 2005 when DVDs where all compressed to fit on a single CD.

Netflix may not have all the content but at least its HD - in fact its pretty close to BluRay quality.

Not really, I only have ShowMax for the kid and the wife. All I watch is youtube and torrented stuff, all in full HD.

Not sure of the model no but been very happy with my Hisense 55inch smart for over a year now.

Quality is fantastic when used for Movies and Gaming both. Great handling of movement on screen and very little lag.

Would have liked Android TV instead of Opera but the apps that are there work well.

Only annoyances:
- Plex client cant decode most formats so I end up using the XBox1 for local media (mostly stream so not a big deal)
- PS4 HDR not supported (even though TV is HDR) - screen goes blank when I enable it.
- Volume control on remote does not affect volume of optical out so I have to keep an extra remote around just for that.

Why you using optical out and not HDMI?

Old Logitech speaker set (Z5500 i think) - happy with sound quality but it predates HDMI and has no video support.

I plug all my devices (well Xbox1 and Ps4) into the TV and the optical into the AMP.
