Short sighted. Limit the functionality because too lazy to ensure ports are available is just crazy. But then that is just the way an engineer is I suppose. It is only us engineers that make full use of the devices we buy.

You would think that, as an engineer you would prefer the more efficient solution of TV and mount manufacturers developing some sort of standard to avoid this issue, as opposed to throwing more money at the problem..

Personally, I have a spacer between my mount and the wall that allows me access to my ports but, again, not everyone is going to know how to do something like that properly, to avoid their TV falling off the wall..

Not everyone has the additional money to go buy extender cables for every port that they will be using.. Extender cables are also not the most readily available product, for the average person who doesn't know what they would need and where to go look for it..

Those don't give a really nice flushed look, but agreed I should've gone for something like that. Out of three TV's mounted only one of them is on an arm that allows easy access to everything, the other two are flush against the wall sigh. So it becomes a two man job to sort out cabling sometimes.
 
I tried Hisense's live chat via their site yesterday but had to leave a message which I'm still awaiting an answer for.

I want to buy a new TV and move my current one to the bedroom. Mainly looking at the Hisense 55" models, the 55U7A and 55A6100UW. There is quite a price diffrence between the 2 and I want to find out why.

It appears to me the main difference has to do with their panel types (ELED vs DLED)? Also, the U7A supports more than 1 billion colours (wide colour gamut?) and has a 200hz smooth motion refresh rate (which I assume is nice for things such as watching soccer and cricket where the ball is fast moving and doesn't cause lag / ghosting).

My current 42" LG also has such a feature but intoduces motion blur which is irritating so I switched it off.

I take it the U7A model will be a better buy, or will the A6100 also do the job nicely?

The A6100 is the entry level 4k hisense. I chose the A6500 and I'm very happy.
 
Can the Hisense rep tell me if Amazon Prime is now available on the 65U8A as an update. It is a great tv ( better picture than the LG 65SK8000 )

55 inch is nice but bigger is better :). I went 58" when the n5000 was out. Wife also said 65" was to big so I compromised.

Ideally, R8k, but nothing more than R10k max. The Dion Wired special is tempting, but my wife wants a nice drawer for the bedroom which costs about R6k.

Both of us have our birthdays in May, so each of us could get a nice present each, lol. Last month I bought a new gaming monitor for myself which was on special for R5k which I couldn't let slide.

But, I guess I'll wait till Black Friday and save some money first unless my impulses dont go overboard and I buy a TV before then.
