[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Hi. Got the 65Q8600 from Allincluded. Awesome service. Highly recommend supporting him.
Amazing TV considering the price.
I still have the older 65m7000uwg from roughly 2 years back.
The q8600 is definitely a step up in terms of overall picture and build quality.
Dirty screen effect is noticeable but does not effect my viewing experience in the slightest. Nice deep blacks, just not OLED black levels obviously. I definitely do not have the extreme lightbleed in the corners as it was the first thing i looked out for. Was rather worried about this.
Totally happy with the overall package. Can't imagine a better TV at this price point to be honest. Good luck with your choice.

Have the 65q8600 for a few months now but I am on my 3rd set.
1st one had LED bleeding, 2nd one instalation company chipped the edge of the screen when they set it up
3rd one is great except with the usual vignette on the corners (this has been on all 3 panels) and is due to the Full Array Lighting FALD
Regarding the yellow blotches or DSE if you change your settings from warm colour picture to Standard it gets rid of it.
I honestly don't like the warm tone in any event and once I start tinkering with the expert settings I will be able to get the colour as perfect as I want it to be.

On grey screen uniformity I am also able to tinker the backlight and gamma change it to 2.4 to make it look much better than it is

Also on the LED bleeding effect if you put your backlighting on high it will remove it entirely.
Another thing I have noticed owning 3 of these guys is that the picture quality improves over time. As wierd as that sounds it has been my experience

Very happy they have added the ability to choose custom settings on Dolby Vision to a degree as it defaulted to the warm tone and lower backlight which causes the picture to look badder than it should be.
Gaming mode response times are unbelievable I can really feel the difference and the edge it gives me playing online.

Q8600 is around that price at takealot atm

guys, I still haven't got around to purchasing a new tv  - been waiting for my wife to agree on a budget - someone showed me the 55inch samsung q60r that's on a steal for R11000 or R12 000. Just heard some bad reviews - is it really that bad? or only when compared to TV's in the R12 - R15k plus range?

I grabbed the Hisense 55b8000 about 2 weeks ago from takealot for R7999... I'm extremely impressed with the performance I'm getting from it, using its default settings... find that dynamic provides beautiful colour. My primary content is gaming on the xbox one x, however do use some of the default apps such as YouTube, dstv now, netflix and showmax... game mode is enabled which improves my response time, the picture quality leaves me stunned (even hd content on the default dstv now is silky smooth, compared to viewing dstv now from my xbox)... it's feature rich in terms of encoding and visual quality, supports dolby vision and dolby atmos (though don't go for it for sound, TV speakers are no solution if you're looking for mind-blowing sound, consider a soundbar or home theater)... the blacks are wonderfully deep and really black as in blacker than black and the whites are just under blinding as in white... I haven't seen a picture quality that competes (maybe I just don't get out much). All I know is that I'm extremely impressed and more than just satisfied with the 55B8000, especially for its price

Did you enable the setting on your TV to get 4K?
Try going to Settigs, System, HDMI & CEC Functions... if HDMI 2.0 Format is set to Standard, try changing it to Enhanced... this will enable the TV to display HDR10 and Dolby Vision as well as various other 4K features

Anyone having issues changing the backlight when viewing Dolby Vision content on Netflix? It's Greyed out for me.

Is it supposed to be?

Are you able to edit the backlight settings when viewing Dolby Content on Netflix? Mine is greyed out

Hi guys,

For the 55 inch B8000, please share the latest firmware and your best picture quality settings

Thanks

Correct you should only be able to set it dolby day and dolby night setting.
I used cinema day / cinema night and tweaked from there. I would say on those settings you're about 90% of the way. I updated my firmware OTA, on version 1.00a.j1114. I'm not experiencing any issues.

I'm re-watching Planet Earth 2 in 4K HDR and it's stunning! Wow, I'm so amazed at the picture quality of this set. It's mind blasting!

Is it possible to send me a pic of your colour settings so we can compare notes?

Any other settings you recommend changing?

Sorry KaMos

What's your display settings on the MiBox. I'm getting significant motion blur when set on 4k when watching DSTV now

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time.

I'm going to buy a TV this coming weekend, the models I'm looking at is the 55" versions of the Samsung RU7100 and the Hisense B8000. They both cost the same. I want to use it for Xbox gaming and Movies in a pretty dark room.
I was pretty set on the Samsung because the Samsung name carries a lot of weight and it has a lot of good reviews on Takealot. But Saturday I went into a store to check out the picture quality for myself and the Hisense was a lot better. They weren't playing the same content though. But now I'm not sure anymore, I will really appreciate any help and advice.
I'm looking for Picture Quality and Reliability with Gaming and Movies. The smart features does not bother me that much as I can run the apps and streaming through my Xbox.

Thank you for taking the time.
