[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Do you own this TV? Contrast adjust doesn't help for my case. Please share your settings.
Too bad. I used it for 2 weeks. Even on my current Q8600, when I want better angle view, I adjust contrast.

So it seems this colour problem only happens on the native DStv app. All other input sources seem to maintain their colour.

I'm looking at Hisense's new 2020 line up. Comparing to samsung and sony.

Thinking of speding around R10k to 15k for a 65"

Hisense 65 inch SM ULED - 65U7WF has been poping up quite a bit. Is it a great option for the price? Or are there others to look at.

Takealot selling the 558QF for R14599 on special for 2days. Do you guys think Black Friday will deliver a cheaper price? Black Friday is starting in 2 weeks...

Don't do it. Make a list of ranked TVs and wait for Black Friday.

I saw the Hisense A7200F was mentioned earlier in this thread, but does anyone have any feedback on how it performs?

I was fortunate enough to order a Xbox Series X, so I'm essentially just looking for a decent 4K TV, albeit on a budget. I did look at the 43" A7100F as well, but I see the A7200F has Dolby Vision, and is an Android, where the A7100F doesn't seem to be.

The A7200F is on special at the moment on Takealot at 12% off to R6999 (after it was R7199 yesterday, and magically went up to R7999 full price for this special)

For all those that are looking to get a new on Black Friday from an online retailer, I suggest you go to a physical retailer such as Hirsch, Makro or Incredible and view the TV's you're interested and compile your most wasted list from there.

As much as one can see specs or see reviews, seeing the TV in person is your best bet and will avoid you being disappointed in some cases. (I suggest, carrying a flash drive with you with some content, which you can use to view on all the TV's making the playing field equal as its hard to compare different brands from just watching the Demo's).

Are the salesmen kind enough to let you plug a flash drive in and view the content?

I bought the 50A7200F, so far it is a fantastic TV, the Dolby Vision really shines. Going from a 40" Plasma this was a big jump. It wont be as clear as the OLED TV's but for the price it's great!

The only thing I am worried about is potential updates as so far I see nothing on the Hisense SA site?

Yes. Makro and Hirsch have let me do it before. A sales person at Hirsch Meadowdale even said I could bring in my Xbox to see if the TV supported the features I wanted.

As long as you ask the brand reps or one of the clued up sales personnel I highly doubt they will say no because as a consumer, you have to be satisfied with the performance of the tv set, not them.

@Hisense SA

Ok m having a warranty issue with my 10 month old Q8600 premium TV.

The hdmi1 port that has ARC has stopped working. I have logged the call and the guys came out today. They did not want to replace the main board as the clip cover of the optical port had broken off when oli inserted the cable months ago.

The issue is with the HDMI port and not the optical. It is ridiculous that they do not want to repair this issue.

The reason I bought it is because if a 4 year warranty but this makes it null and void.
@Hisense SA

Any comment?

I have a B8000 and the optical port clip snapped the first time I plugged a the cable in, without any man-handling. It's obviously made of porridge. Port still works though, just need to hold the cable in with a piece of tape. I reckon they make them cheap so they can refuse the warranty. Tell them you want the clip fixed under warranty too.

Which is better the u7wf or b8000, I'm having a hardtime trying to make a decision ,
does the b8000 have bad image motion response?

Yes it is very cheaply made. The optical port works fine, the hdmi1 with ARC is not working

Can't get through to any of the Hisense contact numbers.

@Hisense SA is missing in action.

I subscribed to this thread I think over a year ago, after we put in 60/65 inch UHD TVs across our office and meeting rooms (about 8)

The pic quality is stunning I feel, but the few times we tried to use the apps, DStv,.YouTube, the app would hang and every TV connected via ethernet to 200mbp internet. As this is not the use case of our TVs, it's not that big of a problem in my professional life. Personal life is another matter.

As much as I want a cost effective TV, I just feel Hisense is not there with quality/stability of their apps/OS/firmware.

I have been in the market for a TV for the last year (I am patient :) ) , and my first choice to replace my 11 year old 40" 1st Gen Samsung SmartTV is LG, then Samsung and I was hoping that keeping an eye on this thread, Hisense would be my dark horse.

We have only two TVs in the house, my old trusty 40" and a 32inch for CCTV.

I don't plan to have any other TVs in the house, and I expect my TV to last me at least 8 years . I am buying 65-75 inch TV, with a budget of 25k. Smart TV features important but not critical as I have a Apple TV providing most my smarts including Kodi

Considering the issues you guys seem to face, should I just stay away from this brand?

Honestly speaking, don't waste your time with any TV's "smart interface", be it Samsung, LG, Hisense, whoever.

Rather get a good quality panel, this is obviously depend on your budget, requirements, use case.

Then add an Nvidia Shield (preferably) or if it's out of your budget, get an Ematic AGT419 (ethernet) or Mi Box S (no ethernet and low quality WiFi chip) and you'll be much better off in the long term.
