I just looked at the RTINGS video where they compared the Q60R/T with the Q70R/T. Saw exactly the same as you mentioned. Is there any new Q70R around to buy?

I believe that the X9000 we get here is more or less the same as the X950 overseas. The 65inch is R30k at Incredible Connection

55" now R12999. And the 65 inch is R19k now (Out of stock). I still wouldn't buy it above R15k.

Looks like everyone wants a 65". But they are so expensive, Im upgrading from a 42" so the 55" is still a big upgrade for me.

Fortunately the viewing size goes up exponentially as you climb the ladder. So 42" -> 50" sounds like only a few inches, but it's an increase of 41% in viewing area.

Going from your 42" to a 55" will be a 71% increase in screen size.

That being said, the rule of thumb is to always go for the biggest size you would prefer, and then take one size above that one.

Think I will be most interested in HDR...

Hisense supports Dolby Vision which is getting more and more popular whereas the Samsung does not.

Depends... If you're going to be using it for the next gen consoles, then I'd go for the Samsung as it supports HDMI 2.1 which has numerous benefits for gaming.

If it's not going to be primarily used for next gen gaming, then I'd go for the Hisense
 
I went to kloppers today and had a look at the U8qf. The 65" was in demo mode and the colors were actually quite good, but the demo is in slow motion so it all looks good. The 55" was directly next to it showing cricket and the display was 'OK' as they are multiplexing the signal. I looked at the "motion handling" and the guy running didn't display very well, an advert came up... and a garage door closed and it looked like Windows 98 with the trailing mouse pointer feature. The motion handling of that tv is really terrible, I am not going to pay R13k for a premium tv that has terrible motion handling. The Samsung TU7000 looks better than the U8QF to be honest.
 
The u8qf Is on takealot for R12999 for anyone interested

I have never bought a TV from takealot before. So quick question.

If I use this for a week and am not happy with it. Despite no defects. I can just send it back for refund ?
