[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Thanks! I went to Makro after work, and had a look at the 7100F, U7WF, U7QF and U8QF.
The U7WF looks a lot better than the 7100F (better brightness, contrast and also has local dimming), but the difference between the U7WF and U7QF isn't that big from what I could see. The U8QF was a lot brighter though, but it's a bit of a stretch for me, and I'm not sure the extra brightness will even matter if it isn't directly next to something to compare it too. So I will go with the U7WF or U7QF rather than the 7100F.
Have you considered the Skyworth 50SUC9300? It runs Android, for what’s that worth over vidaa, and picture is decent compared to the entry level hisense. They go for around R7500 for the 50 inch. Just an option.

Only seeing this now. Thanks for the recommendation.

In the end I got a good deal on a Hisense U7WF. It was delivered today, I look forward to setting it up after work.

Is there anywhere I can see recommended picture quality settings? The TV looks very similar to the U6G but with more dimming zones so I guess I can look at the settings provided for the U6G on Rtings.

Hi their
The u7wf is Full Array Local Dimming but is not a Qled tv.
The u6g is a Qled Full Array Local Dimming, the main difference between the two.
Cheers

I meant to say u8g, but he u6g and u7g are also Qled tv;s,
the only difference being the amount of dimming zones.
65inch u8g has 320 dimming zones; 55inch 132 dimming zones.
65inch u7g has 90 dimming zones; 55inch 72 dimming zones.
65inch u6g has 60 dimming zones; 55inch 52 dimming zones.

Was just watching a review of the u7g and it seems really good. Is this tv available in SA already?

They are not available just yet but hopefully sooner than later.
Cheers

Remember that the model of the review you watched and the model that we will get is most probably not the same.

Our one is way inferior.

This.

South africa will be getting the incredibly disappointing downgraded version. In fact its not even the same TV/model.

I'd give this a skip and wait for Sony to release the X90J in SA. Hoping they do.

Hi there,

I've just bought a Hisense, planning on using it with a Vesa mount. The Vesa spec for the TV is Vesa 800x400, and no one seems to stock mounts for this size. I tried Makro, Takelot, Stax/Sounds Great etc.

Has anyone been able to get a mount for this spec?

I see Makro has a special on the Hisense 65U7QF for R14999.00
and the 65U8QF for R16999.00 until September the 20th.
Looks like a good discount on both models.

65U7QF still on special in Vodabucks app for R12 800. Used to be R9 999 back when I bought it in March.

You need to be specific on the Hisense you've bought. I've had 3 and they've all fitted vesa mounts.

Just get the Ellies mount - the specs of the mount are misleading - it should be considered as an adjustable range of possible dimensions. So for example, on the Ellies mount (don't know if this holds true for other mounts) but specs are 200x400 or 300x600 so anything between 200-600 like 300 x 500.

Thanks. I'd phoned Stax Centurion yesterday and they said they didn't have anything like that, then a salesman at another branch told me Centurion DOES have stock, they just don't know what to look for. I drove there with the part number and bought it just now

The model number is 85A7500WF. It requires a Vesa 800x400 capable mount. Managed to get an Ellies mount at Stax/Sounds Great

That's an 85" that would require a bigger mount yes.
