[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

I don’t know, for the same price you can get a 50” micro-led Samsung. Is the Toshiba micro-led?
Link for the Samsung please? No, the Toshiba isn't micro led but it is 120hz, HDMI 2.1 and full array local dimming

Makro had it for R15k but I can’t find it on their site now.

Thanks for the link. I don't think that's a Micro-LED though

That is an IPS panel. steer clear.

So nasty, got the Toshiba. Saw the Hisense U6H and U7H at Hirches. Store Demo mode was awesome but when I played my media is was a bit kak. Vidaa annoying also.

Toshiba decent punchy sound, bright and Android TV. My media played a bit better and luckily I can adjust all the settings on the Toshiba.

Will start a thread of my experiences for those interested.

43" [43A6G]

She's very happy (as I would be too if someone just gave me a 43" 4K TV)

For myself, I'm hanging on for when the 55" plus LG's go on sale.
Well fck. First time I've had a chance to sit down properly in front of the TV to setup/tweak and I can't for the life of me figure out how to add new apps to this flipping TV.

The Vidaa store app simply isn't there, so daughter is stuck with what came pre-installed. Probably going to have to fck around with side loading stuff, etc, etc - the kind of stuff that I used to find exciting 10 years but really couldn't be arsed with doing nowadays....

No Spotify
No Disney+

What the kuk is this? No help is available online either just complaints.

I'm lekker the moerin right now - will definitely not buy one of these again - rather pay more for an LG.

Cheap TCL with Android TV

Just ordered a Hisense 65U8G from Makro for R12999 (Looks like it's sold out now) What your guys opinion on the build and picture quality?
I pray you don't have that ugly dirty screen effect and motion smearing(mostly appears red. Easily noticeable in low light scenes. ) Otherwise that should be a steal at that price if those things do not bother you.

Yeah I understand what you mean, but hisense is in it for the money so they will keep gimping, you are expecting way too much from them and I doubt they will fix their issues anytime soon, this is why it is better to buy a more decent brand that sells the same product internationally, you will have to pay more but I think it would be worth it. Hisense takes us for fools.
Hisense tv prices are more expensive in SA and they sell lower quality tv's here as well. You can just look at the A9G(UK model) oled review on youtube. The guy got it for 600 pounds. We only have the a8g oled here available. Which was sold for 20k and more. And that TV is insanely inferior to the a9g over there. Plus Hisense manufactures UK TVs right here in SA!. Disgusting Chinese etiquette. They think south africans are stupid

Not exactly the right thread, but considering several asked on here and the Toshiba is owned by Hisense.

I've got the z770 65". Massive upgrade from my older LG, especially the full array dimming, brightness, HDR and colouring. No photo I take will do it justice, so I'd definitely advise going to have a look at your local Makro.
I can't comment on the built in sound bar, I use the JBL and in comparison the built-in without sub doesn't sound as good. Ticks I think all of the XBOX Series X boxes.

The android OS also perfect, I can sideload my usual apps and so far it seems very smooth. Except for the DSTV app, not sure if its just android but the quality not that good, but it might be unrelated to the TV, haven't used the app in a while. Watched some stuff on Dolby Vision as well and was stunning.

The manual is not well documented, so for instance it took me couple of minutes to figure out I need to set HDMI to enhanced mode to enable the 120hz for the Xbox.

Other than that, i think for the price its a very good deal, not sure if you'll find an 65" 120hz panel, android OS, quantum dot colors, 1000 nits brightness and hdmi 2.1 for R18999. For me its a m0erse upgrade compared with my older TV so i only have nice things to say. Let's hope no issues with it and it lives a long and happy life.

Wait a minute is this the hisense u8g (UK model) in disguise. The UI looks the same and its android?

You my friend are one of the few smart people it this thread, You made the right choice. Let me know when i can move in.
I got the same deal @DieBaard the sound bar is bit trash though. It does not come with hdmi at all. So no arc. Also, do you also lose sync with the soundbar when you play sound through both the tv and soundbar (in bluetooth mode ) ?
