Wanted to provide my feedback on the 65" U7H.
I have it up and running now and have had some time to play around with the settings.
Off the bat, it's great! My setup started as:
AppleTV --> TV
TV --> Sound Bar (ARC)
Unfortunately this introduced a delay on the audio that was perceptible to me. I've read that this can be due to the audio format the AppleTV outputs and the TVs need to convert this to be passed through to the sound bar.
In any case, I changed the set up to be:
AppleTV --> Sound Bar --> (ARC) --> TV
I was happy to discover that my sound bar is capable of Dolby Vision passthrough! It's a few years old and I couldn't find any confirmation that is could passthrough Dolby Visions, hence why I initially connected the AppleTV directly.
Anyways, I'm using 'Cinema Day' mode for SDR content, with all processing disabled. Tweaked the brightness and contract slightly. Have the backlight/local dimming set to high.
For HDR I am using 'Dolby Custom' for daytime viewing (same as above with all processing off). Backlight/local dimming set to medium. Tone set to 'Warm 2'.
And then 'Dolby Night' for night-time viewing. Brightness lower than above, and using 'Warm 1' for tone to get that movie cinema feel.
I haven't experienced
any motion issues at all. I know
@capd and
@bRaNoVa had some. I suspect they are related to using the native apps (rather than a media box) and/or DolbyVision IQ picture mode (dynamically adapts to room brightness).
All in all very very happy.
