Yup, still enjoying it, though been watching old DVDs on it, the upscaling on it is pretty good. Also been playing some games and don't really spot any motion issues on gaming.
Only complaint is I can't have eArc on for bluray and DSTV
 
I bought the 65inch OLED a8h and I love the picture quality although when I watch any show or movie it looks like it stutters or drops a few frames roughly every 30 seconds or so. I’ve played around with the settings and I haven’t been able to fix it without setting motion to have that horrible soap opera effect. Have any of you perhaps encountered this same issue?

Also, I’m considering getting a ps5 to use with the tv. Have any of you played games on it, how is the input lag on this tv? Or would you recommend I rather get a samsung neo qled qn85A? I have one on hold for R20k. Not sure which tv would be better. Any advice/recommendations?

I also can’t find the Disney plus app. I did a quick search and it seems they are busy working on a version for Hisense VIDAA tvs so let’s hope they release it soon.

Discussed at length here with settings posted and how to remove all motion enhancements/post processing. My main workaround is using an Apple TV. I haven’t connected my Xbox Series X or (unboxed) my PS5 yet, but Xbox One X is flawless at 60 FPS. However, Xbox Series X took a few settings in order to get it near flawless colour-wise, and apparently PS5 still struggles with some washed out colour, the last time it was discussed here.

I also think they don’t permanently hit 120 FPS? But with VRR it’s good enough.

Still an excellent value TV at around R25k when compared to the LG and Sony equivalents at around R45k.

Presume the QN would be a 55”? Quite a big size difference but the QN’s are excellent for very bright rooms.

The QN85A is the 65inch version. I bought it from incredible connection during their Christmas sale although I still have to collect it. I’ll still be able to send back the A8H to takealot. The QN85A looked great at the samsung store but they didn’t have an oled to compare it to. I did see some slight blooming on dark backgrounds but the picture quality seemed very good. I honestly don’t know which tv to go for. The samsung is R20k and the Hisense will end up costing me R26k after adding the Apple TV. I can’t decide if the oled picture quality is worth the extra cost. I’m not using the tv in a bright room. I’m more worried about the Hisense’s input lag, issues with PS5 colour accuracy, etc.

Oled has a great response time and refresh rate, if you stick it at 60hz the PS5 colours will be fine as well.
 
I have the 55 inch A8H and I haven't experienced the motion issues, granted I have all motion processing turned off when I watch anything.

Used this TV for PS5 gaming and I'm very impressed with the performance and picture quality. I noticed that toggling the blue light setting in a very dark room does make the colours look more accurate.

I haven't checked out the QN85A so can't comment on that.

Thanks. I’ll try the settings you mentioned.
 
From my research it seems that the reason Hisense TVs have intermittent motion handling issues is due to the fact that the motion smoothing algorithms are geometry based - everything will be fine during a few scenes, but then a new scene will introduce some geometry that trips up the algorithm.

This happens with all televisions but Hisense is lagging a bit behind so it’s especially noticeable.
 
So I guess Samsung gets you low lag for gaming , better motion processing, Tizen

But you get better picture quality for less money from Hisense , with worse motion handling?

This makes sense – it does seem rather scene-based. One movie I’ve not had luck with improving is Pinocchio on Netflix. Must be due to the animation/geometry? Anyone else?
 
Just got these 2. Will provide a comparison in terms of picture quality as there wasn't a big price difference. Samsung is already set up thanks to Signature Service. Unboxing the U7H after supper.
