[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Not really, the Netflix and Prime apps work better then on the Android box, actually switch to filmmaker mode properly.
It's also not as slow as the old ones. Would be nice if it had Disney plus

I'm on VIDAA 5.2 and man it's garbage. Insanely laggy and slow with outdated apps that'll likely never get updated. Had to get a Firestick which works excellently, but can't do DSTV on it. The DSTV app on VIDAA is painfully slow and stream is unusable as every 2 minutes the stream just pauses and won't continue without going back and restarting it. A8G's picture quality is insane though!

Vidaa 6 on the A8H and it's better then vidaa 4

Ok, got the 55 inch U7H yesterday (my wife won it in a competition) :p

So far very happy (yeah not OLED, but free is free).
Initial reaction:

GOOD:
a) IPS but viewing angles are great
b) Nice and bright and not too much of a reflection (unpacked last night, but even this morning watched some DSTV - PS 2nd time DSTV Now just "froze" - not sure what is up with that.. - might need to check my Wifi - but then when I open on my Samsung it plays fine - same Wifi)
c) Apps load very quickly - Interface is nice and snappy - Checked for system upgrades and am on latest version it tells me.
d) TV's audio is actually quite loud and DTS does sound "surround like". - Watched Age of Ulton on HD Apple TV and was very immersive (might need to get AppleTV 4K, but hoping for Disney+ "soon" on VIDAA 6 ??!!
e) PLEX :D

BAD?:
f) VIDAA website constaly fails to let me register or confirm my email - should maybe be happy?
g) Also tried to register for 4th year on Hisense website (via QR code on the pamphlet) - Only has models from 3 years ago (some 3D TVs)?
h) No Disney+ yet (has almost been 10 months since launch)?!! - at least have AppleTV I can plug in for that (for now).
i) Saw some very bad "banding" in a movie we played from the laptop via HDMI (could have just been a bad version or some setting)

NEXT:
i) Have to play much more to get the settings #Lekker
ii) Might have to pay Netflix R40 more per month for 4K/UHD (it keeps reminding me when I load Netflix - "we want more money" :p)

Enjoy the new TV:thumbsup:. But even if I got a Hisense for free, I'd feel like I still paid too much.

Anybody got the 85u7h and how is it? It's so painful that Hisense uses the same product names but specs and performance are different in other countries. Trying to compare this to the Samsung 85Q70B. I currently have the Hisense 65U8G and it's been very good to me.

Guys this is a heads up, stay clear of the Vodacom Store, Digital Planet facilitates their orders. You will wait forever for your TV or any other product and when received chances are it will be badly damaged (not new) pre delivery.:cautious:

Just ordered a 50A7HQTUK. Picking it up today after work.
Rather excited.
Currys (here in the UK) allowed you to apply a discount code so I got £80 off which brought the price of the 50" down to the price of the 43".
I am loving this TV so far.
Starts up quickly, got it hooked up to Google Assistant and I am happy straight out the box with the performance of the apps on the VIDAA OS.
I think the TV might be a bit too bit for my room, but I do not care... its a beautiful screen.

Just got this in my inbox after how many months of them not confirming the extended warranty registration :X3:

I have the 85A7G so can’t speak for the U7H, but what I can I say is that the 85 inch size is a power hungry monster. It is rated 320 watts and it really uses that much per hour. If you have a trolley inverter you won’t get much use out of the tv during load shedding and this version of VIDAA doesn’t seem to have an Eco mode. It also seems to be using a lot of power during standby mode so you have to unplug it. Not sure if Hisense is just bad at power management compared to other brands. The size is fantastic though and even though it’s not ULED the picture is great. Doesn’t do sports well, however, with the lagging.

A lot of power in standby mode? That is odd, shouldn't really. Also my 65" OLED can be great on power and it can also shoot up to 200w easily :-)

I wouldnt recommend the U7H to anyone unless there are no other options available. The picture processing was terrible. I watched HDR movies off my external and Netflix it was disappointing to say the least. The colours and shades in some scenes were totally off. I'm not sure if it was the firmware or a combination of firmware and the actual processing chip but I was so disappointed. I was on firmware M0901, then M1229 and experienced the issue on both of them before I returned the TV.

I am pretty happy with my 55 inch U7H

Yeah did have to tweak a bit and turn "most" of the extra processing stuff off. Have watched using the "apps" - Plex, Netflix, DSTV and Showmax all work very well for my use case.

I will try a few HDR movies of my "external" - PS: not on 4K Netflix (HD is fine)... But yeah sort of defies the purpose

Will upgrade to 4K soon (Netflix says it is just R40 more - price of a beer nowadays .. at the PUB).

I watched some Netflix at my Aunt’s on her U6H and I have to say, I didn’t notice any of the bad motion issues of the older TVs. Hisense seems to be solving that problem.
