[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

The Hisense 55a8h has so far been a joy.
All tested with Denon AVR 4K@60Hz, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and HDR.
Nvidia Shield TV pro - Plex, YouTube, Netflix, F1TV (not tested) UFC Fight Pass (not tested)
Plex - Streamed DV and HDR, bright colors, no stuttering, good blacks, no banding.
Netflix - Streamed DV and HDR, bright colors, no stuttering, good blacks, no banding.
Youtube - No stuttering or banding, 4K looks very good.
Apple TV - Apple TV, no other apps installed. (IMO, most apps work better on the Nvidia, Disney+ was an exception)
Apple TV - Best quality of any other streaming service, no banding or stuttering.
LG 4K BlueRay player - Streamed DV and HDR, bright colors, no stuttering, good blacks, no banding.
DSTV - The panel is unable to polish this turd. HD content is vibrant and looks good, waiting to watch RWC in 4K.
Cannot test 4K@120Hz as i dont own a new console.
A person will be very hard pressed to find another OLED panel for the following;
55 inches, Dolby Vision, 4 year warranty, R12,500.
I couldn't see any cable management options when the panel is wall mounted.
The updates - the panel took a long time going through all the updates.

120hz on consoles can be hit and miss, it switches to hdr10 which isn't anywhere near as vibrant as dolby vision, so colours are a little more washed out. I use a normal bluray player and it still does a pretty good job of cleaning that up. Also my DSTV from my old explora isn't too bad, just don't have hdmi set to enhanced.
 
Thoughts on the sony x90j? Seems like a decent upper mid ranger. Incredible and hifi corp have the 65 for R18k

Yup they are sadly different to the US versions, not sure why Hisense does that to be honest.

When Forza Motorsport is released, will test with PC, RTX4080, the test will be for HDR, have a Dell 4K 144Hz IPs monitor and i never use HDR on it. (the last of us looks awesome on the Dell @4K)
I think the test will not proof anything for console gaming.

Don't be scared @Timberwolf208 – I too was a TV brand snob and my 65AH8 does 95% of what my LG CX and C1 do at half the price.
 
@Timberwolf208, i have never owned a Hisense product prior to purchasing the 55a8h.
The OLED panel is very good and you wont be disappointed, plus you get a 4 year warranty.
 
I have the Hisense 50A7HQTUK and I still cannot get Google Assistant to work with it.
Once I connect it to my Google account it shows up in Google Home as Vidaa Assistant, but then voice commands from Google Nest or phone don't work. Only thing that works is the assistant on the TV.

I tested last night and Amazon Alexa works perfectly. But I don't want to buy an Echo just because my TV shits itself with Google.

For what its worth, my 65" U6G also received a firmware upgrade two days ago, only managed to update it just now. Loving the new color scheme of the UI and a few added features here and there. The VIDAA app store also got a nice face lift along with some new apps, but still, no Disney+ app - perhaps its still coming. Anyhow, I use my Nova 4K android box, so I'm sorted with everything there. Still loving my TV even if it isn't an OLED :)

Only way burn in becomes a real issue is if you keep it on for like 9 hours a day with the same static images without refresh.
