Philips Airfryer - anyone have?

It’s flat bottomed and has venting on the side.

I need a basket holder like that. I just use the bread board, I am kitchening wrong.

Considering the Phillips XL, family of three. Will this be fine?

Family of four here (4&8 so could count as one) and mine does the job well enough for most week day cooking tricks.

Even if you have to double up on cooking different things it’s generally still quicker than using the oven by a large margin.

That is exactly my thing. I want to speed up weekday cooking time.

We're 5. XL is big enough for most things.

Yeah so I can happily do 600g-ish of frozen chips and some chicken nuggets/fish fingers/cordon bleu all in one batch and it’s done in 10-ish minutes with the crumbled stuff going in by itself a few more minutes after.

Most of the time though I just make it separately and let the chips go last specifically because I want it to cool down for the kids first.

Chicken wings a bit more of a story but still doesn’t justify the oven going on.

That’s usually 15-20 minutes for an entire basket of chicken wings and then another 10 for the chips.

My oven would have take 10-15minutes just to preheat.

Yup it’s all just about whether you need it all done at once or can stagger the cooking a bit.

I do uCook four days of the week and half the time I modify their instructions to air fry things instead and it works perfectly.

Up next...

I may get "flammed" but I don't give a crap.

After a good few years of use my non-Philips AF packed up, switch on nothing happens, at the worst possible time. Funds are super low after the US trip & the clutch on my banger ducked out & needs to be attended to.

Couldn't justify paying ~50% extra for the brand name, Takealot DD to the rescue. The brand is known & reviews for the most part are very positive.

Before anyone asks the small size is perfect for a single oke.

I had the mellerware before my philips xl. It is unfortunately too small for more than 1 person.
But does work adequately. Gave it to my parents in law and still working fine.

Hmm very interested to try this as the egg boiler thing standing loose on the counter and keeping it clean because nobody else bothers annoys me.

How many do you cook at a time or is it kind of irrelevant?
We did 4 eggs, but I don't think qty matters too much.

After a discussion with some friends; I’m now considering one of these. Specifically the XXL version. Just got a gas stove installed and using an air fryer would cut down on power usage as I understand it cooks quicker, right?
