Sound up:

Still so much space left in the Airfryer. Can easily cook for 4.
Looks good but that is just steamed chicken and veg. You could have done that in the steamer or microwave and just put under your oven grill for 2min.

Or maybe it is just pointing out the biggest problem of an air fryer. No matter what all the BS propaganda that is spread on this thread. An air fryer is a hassle to clean.
With you oven pan you can just use steel wool or something to get rid of the hard burnt pieces and nothing will happen. With the air fryer you can't and have to be careful not to scratch it otherwise it will rust. Dishwasher also does not properly clean all the hard burnt pieces.

So the chicken was fcking delicious, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and because I didn't use oil it wasn't fatty at all.

My wife now says she wants an airfryer. Just had some salads with the food, and it was cooking on its own while I was sitting with the kids next to the pool.
Chicken is the best in the airfryer, I sometimes think the airfryer was made specifically for chicken. You can never get it wrong. I really hope you do invest in the Philips though, it is worth every penny.

OMG please read your own Philips Bible and explain to us how you cooking a whole chicken in 18min? In fact the only pieces of chicken that will take only 18min, according to your Philips bible is breast and wings. But hey we all know you just talk BS and can't cook, that's why you own a Philips.

Philips XXL 2225watts
Intant Vortex 1700 watts
Goldair 8L air fryer 1400watts
Milex xxxL 1800watts

It is people like you that like the other member said, chase happy owners away from a product. Even potential owners. After reading this thread Philips was the last option I would consider.
Where does Craig mention cooking a full chicken? Coz I was talking about cut chicken pieces taking 18 minutes in the Philips.

If you decide not to get a Philips because of the things I say then it is your loss and not mine, I don’t have a stake in Philips so I don’t know how that would take anything away from me.

It's not. Closer to roast than steaming. It is cooking with and in its own juices. Not remotely the same as steaming.

It's not. Fairly easy to clean. The grill take a bit of effort, like 5 minutes.

Dishwasher also does not properly clean all the hard burnt pieces.

Dishwasher properly cleans it.

Are they big enough to cook chicken pieces and how long does it take?

I looked at them but they looked way to small to be functional in my kitchen.
Too small, XXL is too much money for my liking. I'd rather put that into a new Bosch oven with a touchscreen.

Tried chips, various crumbed veggies, crumbed meat, burger patties, samoosas, pies and springrolls all lightly coated with oil but the result was just ok, edible but not something I'd do often.

The XXL is completely over priced at the "normal" price. If I did not get it for R3000 I would not easily have considered it. Maybe R3500 I think is still reasonable. Same I think the XL is not worth more than R3000.

The smaller versions like what you have is nice for fish fingers for the kids.

I saw in the Philips recipe book that if you want to make (fresh) potato chips to first soak it in sugar water for 30 minutes and then fry it. Some veggies they say you need to steam lightly and then put in airfryer.

Chicken still stays my favourite.

What I found works best, because the element is so close, same with my toaster oven, is to add the sugary / sticky / sweet sauce only for the last 5 - 10 minutes. So cook plain for the first 15 minutes. Or put chicken in foil and let it soak in the juices and sauce and then open for the last 5-10 minutes.
Yeah that's what I did. Sauced them right at the end.

Well he does not mention it is pieces either and times given suggest its a whole chicken, Yet you immediately assume that another air fryer will take 1 hour to cook chicken pieces and the wonderful Philips will only take 18min.
Any person with just a bit of logic will know that 99% of air fryers will cook the same size chicken piece in about the same time. Except you and the other clown here that think there is some kind of magic 5g waves coming from that starfish that suddenly penetrates chicken skin and meat faster, without burning it and thus cooking it faster. If you and your friend had any objectivity you would know that all the BS starfish propaganda on the Philips website is comparing the Philips with a normal old oven, even without a fan or convection. And not to other air fryers.

I have used a Philips many times, there is not one thing it does better or faster than probably any other air fryer. The place I'm going to on holiday in a week or two have one. If it is still there and not rusted in the ocean air I will make a video of it cooking chicken pieces and the time and then do the same when I'm back with my Goldair. I hope when I give you the evidence you will shut up with these nonsense arguments.
And that stupid mesh under the basket that some of these Philips have is the worst idea ever that any air fryer had. If you have a braai grid you would know its near impossible to clean the burnt stuff in that little corners where the mesh overlaps. Now you sit with a stupid fine mesh with thousands of little squares thats near impossible to clean.

They easy to clean. Soak in hot water and invest in a brush. Worst case scenario will take 30 seconds.

However the Bosch Dishwasher, clean them shiny as Joel Osteens teeth.

What you need is a Bosch dishwasher. Makes short work of the grid of my Philips AirFryer, and also big enough to take the grill of my Weber Smokey Joe.

OMG now a Bosch dishwasher suddenly have Ivermectin injection that makes it better than other dishwashers.
Unbelievable

Maybe we start a gold star appliance thread

How long does your goldair take to airfry 4xthighs and 4xdrumsticks, or whatever it can comfortably handle. Can you post results here.

18-20 minutes. Here is mine.
View attachment 1444491
First off all. please don't say whatever mine can handle. Mine is bigger than yours so it can handle anything yours can and then some.
Secondly, those are wings and not drumsticks.
Thirdly those are little tiny Rainbow chicken pieces.

So this whole argument is just going in the same 30%ter way than every other on this thread.
If you want to compare two air fryers. Then you take the same pieces and the same size of each. Then you must actually have unedited video. Not a photo with someone just telling, HEY I cooked this is 18min. WTF?
Then we should actually cut the pieces open to the bone to see if they are actually cooked all the way. I can cook something like in your pics in 8min but it will still be raw inside.

If I must take a guess, I will say my Goldair will be a fraction faster than a Philips or any other air fryer. Because its biggest flaw is also its biggest asset. The fan is too strong. I used to bake small cakes or cupcakes in the air fryer, but with the Goldair's fan that is so strong, it blows them skew. However that strong fan on the other hand makes the food even more crispy and juicy inside, and will probably cook it a fraction faster.
