We used to buy cooking oil every month, I can't remember the last time we bought oil. Also there is no oily residue.
Regarding convection ovens. The air fryer is quicker to use, it heats up in seconds. It is designed to get an efficient airflow, a conventional fan oven does not have a very aerodynamic flow.
The electrical consumption difference between a conventional oven and an air fryer is quite substantial.
I reckon on the electrical savings and the savings in oil that our air fryer will have paid for itself inside 2 years.
Plus it is easier to clean than an oven and very easy to use.
