Philips Airfryer - anyone have?

Probably a case of the Philips being the best of a bad bunch.
My Mellerware is holding up well relative to the price but I have noticed that it takes longer to heat up than a year ago.

I've been trying to buy that all day, but the price jumps up to 3315 when I add it to my basket. Bizarre.
 
My standard size Philips Airfryer is going on 7 years now and still going strong. Its used almost daily.

Ordered the XL model from Takealot so this one will probably be passed on to my brother in law who has been talking about getting one...

I have the older dial one. I think the digital ones may be a little less reliable.

I'm not sure I would trust Takealot who chooses to only publish select revies.

I'd go Philips every time. Also seems more compact.

This is one thing I'm trying to find out. Slservices makes it sound like this 6290 model is not backward compatible with the xl grill plate accessory they sell - they claim that fits only the 6240 models.

Takealot keep bumping the price. When I first started looking 10 days ago it was R3k.
On the weekend R3.3k. Now it's R3.5k.
The other retailers have it over R4k.
I'm not sure what it all means but I haven't yet taken the plunge...

It's a bit if a mess as Philips doesn't have enough stock to supply Africa.

Erm... the Milex is both cheaper and have more capacity?

I own the Milex and that's why I got it instead of the Philips. I don't use it enough to justify paying double the priceof the Milex for the same size (5.6 liters).

Anyway - airfryers work great for certain things but in all honesty it's not nearly as good and versatile as a halogen oven.
 
If you're desperate for a cheap Airfryer, Clicks has the Sambrook on special. It's very much like the Mellerware which I have for 2 years now and even the Mellerware is in short supply.
