Hi everyone

I operate a number of small websites, all of which are on shared cPanel hosting. I use only one company for this. While they provide a good service at an extremely cheap rate, there's one problem that they're clearly struggling to deal with: their e-mail server keeps being blacklisted due to being used to send out spam. Obviously this is a problem with shared hosting: there many users, which have many e-mail addresses, which can be exploited. So, while it's not their fault and it's tricky to deal with, sending e-mail though them has become rather unreliable.

It's costing me R30 a month for 1 GB of disk space and 12.5 GB of traffic per site. While having my own server would be nice, I haven't come across any affordable and reliable options. For instance, Kimsufi is cheap, but if something happens to the server, it can take days to sort out, which is no good if you've got lots of people relying on their e-mail.

I'm not set on R30 a month and I realise you get what you pay for, but at the same time paying R500 a month isn't an option.

I'm looking for shared or cheap hosting that has reliable e-mail and the basic cPanel setup. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for recommendations based on experience, please.

Thanks very much.

You should forget about the word cheap if you want reliability and email deliverability. Of course their servers will be blacklisted if theyre extremely cheap. All the spammers and scammers will use them.

Hostgator or even diamatrix are very good. Especially when it comes to support.

If you're looking for a VPS you could try vps.co.za. (http://vps.co.za/local-vps-servers) I've seen people on the forum complain about them in the past but I haven't had a days trouble.

Code:
[root@vps ~]# uptime
 20:42:41 up 181 days, 5:35, 1 user, load average: 0.12, 0.06, 0.01

I'm using the R99 entry level one, doesn't have much but it works.

Depends on the policy, our brands hostonarope.com and penzaihosting.com will suspend you before you try deliver 10 spam mails on their network.

We design the detection systems and in the past 6 years they have not been listed once. Furthermore they monitor deliverability of mail to freemail providers and notify clients of potential issues.

Zero tolerance I say.

Thanks very much for the suggestions everyone! I'll check all of them out. I was also contacted by DomainCheap, who suggested their reseller package.
