Hi, I would appreciate it if you can answer the following questions:
How is the reception on South African networks?
Does it have 5G in SA?
I am aware that some AI functionality is only available in the USA can you confirm this?
What negative comments do you have about the phone?

I'm in KSA.
5G isn't available without rooting.
VoLTE is available without rooting.

Magic Eraser, and all the photo stuff work. Google VPN doesn't.

It's slightly slower and faster than my S22 Ultra when opening certain apps. However, I have been starting afresh with a ton of app installs so it could be due to that.

Battery life is decent so far.
Really like Pixel Watch 2

That's actually not too bad on the Google, considering the A17 Pro is the fastest chip known to mankind.

G3 opens Facebook, Starbucks, Snapseed processing etc all faster

Pixel 8 pro is fast enough for real word usage. I have 0 complaints.

Just need to root it now so I can get 5G working
 
Since I took delivery of my pixel 8 pro I averaged around 3-4 hours SOT with the battery still being around 55-65% when going to bed.

Haven't been feeling 100% this weekend so been using the phone quite a bit. Happy to report that I've averaged 9 hours SOT until the tank was empty. Quite a step up from the 7 pro.

Update:

I'm happy to advise that after the December Feature Drop/Update that I know have 5G.

Tried, but no 5G. Will try again when in an area where 5G should be available.
We have bad reception in the CBD.
PS In Cape Town.
