No I haven't, we went camping this past weekend. I am also waiting for my infrared thermometer to arrive. Will definitely post here once I've used the oven. Technically it's a birthday gift from me to me so I should wait until then

The trick is when you think the stone is ready sprinkle a tiny bit of flour on it, very tiny, half a teaspoon
If it goes brown you know the stone is ready
Thanx, I already have a laser thermometer so that I can check the actual number for consistency purposes but will test the flour method.
The last time my stone was very hot, it burnt the bottom somewhat and the top not ready yet. Fine ballance to get the top temp right too. I don't have a proper pizza oven thus trying to work with what I have.

I use a teflon sheet to get the pizza onto the stone then pull it out after a minute or 2. After I added sauce and toppings, the pizza sticks to the peel and then my patience gets the better of me.

Think I shall not use the oven again.

I also have the same issues sometimes.
I once pulled the pizza paddel out so fast that the pizza was still stuck to the padel and all the pizza toppings simply stayed behind on the pizza stone
Ive luckily never burnt any pizzas with my 1inch pizza stone.
I have the kettle caddy one
So happy with it I bought another one as backup

Ive heard using parchment paper works well, just put pizza on it and slide it onto pizza stone. Apparently the paper wont burn, will give this a try sometime when I am feeling rich coz it is damn expensive

Parchment paper = baking paper ? Dis fkn cheap man.

Parchment / baking paper onto the pizza stone
Then after a while remove the paper easily
Will give this a try sometime
Video is less than 90 seconds, watch it

So the first test run in the Milex gas oven. Was a bit impromptu, wasn't planning on doing it this weekend as I need to make poolish and dough first. But the itch was there to just buy bread dough from Pnp and wing it.

Not bad and the photos exaggerate the color of the crust. It was dark brown not black but I'm pretty sure it's the sugar in the bread dough.

Rear of the stone got to over 400C and the front about 300C, this was already too hot for this dough so after the first one I only heated the rear to about 300C. Launching and turning was easy with this dough as it was not sticky (low hydration I think)

So very keen to actually make some dough and give the oven a fair shot. Now to find where I put my 00 Flour  Also very keen to use fresh mozarella.
