Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!

What pepperoni do you guys buy? I find that its either too thick that you cant bite through it nicely on a slice of pizza or too big (diameter) that you almost have to hold one end of it while you bite to avoid the whole slice pulling off your pizza.

I guess I am looking more for the little discs of pepperoni that the americans use, any know where I can source something like that?
I also struggle to find decent pepperoni but have gotten larger diameter discs at Woolworths which I then cut into smaller discs using the base of an icing gun attachment.

Hi guys

Any advise for really good mozarella loaves in Capetown? i usually get the pre-grated mozarella bags in 1kg, but looking for something fresher

I think it safe to say that anything is better than pre-grated. They put an anti-caking agent on it to prevent it from sticking.

I'm focused on NY style at the moment which favours a mix of harder moz but our local Food Lovers usually has balls of mozzarella in brine which is better than most if you're trying to make a Neapolitan style.

Or you could make your own.

I find Galbani mozarella to be pretty decent, available at most Checkers stores.

Looks great, I'm sure the extra time slow fermenting added to the flavour.
Probably - I might add a day or two to the cold proofing next week and see how it turns out.

The dough is a blend of bread, 00, and wholewheat flours so it's got a lot of flavour out of the gate.

Thanks, will check out the closest food lovers and see what I can find

Last night’s batch: Garlic Chita with mushrooms, Margherita with extra cherry tomatoes, and a chicken and mushroom with jalapeño.

Was delicious 🤤

Crust looks perfect! What are you baking with?

Pizza Vesuvio at Tyger waterfront is super nice. They are in the entertainer too so buy 1 get 1 free if you are with FNB and have the qualifying account.

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my Pizza (10/10) but they were especially great with my 5 year old. They rolled the dough and brought the sauce, cheese and meat to her to make her own pizza and even let her put it in the Pizza oven.

Not a bad result for a first go!

Any good pizza places near seapoint area? Even milnerton, woodstock or century city area? Was at nonna lina a few years ago and it was ok but also nice.

The best napolitan style pizza that I've had outside of Italy.
