Ja but the CPA is not an instant solution. It can still take mnths for a resolution while broken plasma gathers dust. I think I'll cancel......

I am actually thinking it's Samsung in general, took back three of their LCD monitors last year this time, all with multicoloured lines running the length and breadth of the screens. How many people did actually end up buying the TV's PP recommended?
Did you eventually get it sorted out? As I said I've got a feeling it's Samsung but that's cause I was monitorless for a month and a half. Eventually the retailer was like next time your monitor breaks bring it to us and choose any other model.
Ricoza - Go onto Samsung website www.samsung.co.za, then go to "contact us". Write up your problem and submit. Samsung will contact you in regarding the problem and samsung will arrange a tech to come see your TV.
wonder where the defender of Samsung is today![]()

I went through 5 plasmas over the past three weeks. Each buzzed above normal tv volume and the one even had a faulty panel.
Knew he couldn’t be far
But Ja PP, all of us just bought the "bad apple", looks like we are all a real unlucky bunch
Well it’s starting to seem like it yesWell yes, unfortunate as it is, unless you're saying they're all tainted?
The last time I looked this was a thread for a broken samsung??PostmanPot said:Gosh, imagine if everyone judged LG based on Hello Peter's LG listings - they wouldn't have a single sale! See where I'm going here as to how you're blowing threads like this out of proportion?
Each time someone says anything bad about Samsung you jump to the rescue, how did you even know I was talking about you if you knew it was not true?PostmanPot said:But I am more interested in your comment "defender of Samsung" - please elaborate. Otherwise please don't troll like that.
Then Samsung should investigate and call the bad batch backPostmanPot said:FWIW, been abusing my plasma for the past 5 months, probably 8 hours TV a day on average. Not a single problem. Not a second's worth of IR. Maybe it was from a previous "batch" though.![]()

And still, bad batch or not, it’s no excuse for the way Samsung handled the whole situation
I have the Samsung Plasma PS42C450 for about a year now and I'm very happy with it - the LG's couldn't compete on a price and function offering at the time. Haven't had any major problems, I did notice buzz at times, but luckily the buzz disappeared else I would have claimed on warranty (I think buzz maybe related to very bright scenes - not sure).
FWIW: I've also upgraded firmware a couple of times and I think one of the latest firmware (V1023) descriptions says improve PDP 50"UTP module reddish picture (red dot) issue.
The only issue I have is that the inbuilt mediaplayer doesn't play mkv files yet - I wasn't expecting it to and I'm hoping that the next firmware upgrade will sort it out.
I recently bought a 23" (BX2331) Samsung LED LCD monitor and have not had any problems with it yet (fingers crossed).
On the other hand my father-in-law's LG plasma is still going strong after 5yrs - hope my Sammy lasts that long at least.
(My view is that the LG TV audio quality is better than Samsung and Samsung's video quality is better than LG for comparable models)
PS42C430A1XXA
is this the number you are talking about?
