They've made major strides in the areas of lag and smoothness of gameplay. I personally haven't encountered hackers, though I know others have. They've been working on hack detection and banned a bunch of people.

The foliage settings do make a difference, but after this latest patch the foliage is more vibrant and cannot be turned off.

There's a reason they've sold 2 million copies and had more than 100,000 concurrent players - the game is a load of fun. Get it. You won't regret it.
 
Yeah, last patch fixed the foliage issue and a lot of settings where taken away from the ini file. The cheaters where using lag switches, but this was "fixed" in the previous patch already.

Get it. Sure, the lag is bad sometimes, but soon AWS will be here and then it is a thing of the past. ;-)
 
I will say the game is twice the fun when playing as a squad :)

I bought the game but only had enough time for 3 games this weekend, so I'm still very potato. I have managed to shoot at people but haven't killed anyone yet, but managed to deploy some DayZ "be a bush" tactics to make the top 10.

When watching streamers it feels like forever before the blue comes in, when actually playing damn the blue hits you fast.

Really enjoying it, cant wait to get home and play (haven't felt this excited about a game in many years).

Send your steam ID and I will add you. Always keen to get a squad going - although duo's are probably best seeing as you have more loot to yourself.
 
Love this game!

Have a few chicken dinners in total, but only one this season (after reset).

Solo is super stressful, actually only started playing solo yesterday. Been playing with mates in squads most of the time.

Gave the reddit custom game a shot last weekend, was pretty fun. Definitely keen to hit some more this long weekend :)

Wow Nick, is that what the game is like? 30 minutes of running around and collecting stuff from houses, then being killed one minute after seeing somebody else? :P
