Please do a MyBroadband speed test on Rain

Germiston, Fixed. At night though the speed is horrible.

Don't upload anything with LTE. Took over an hour to upload a 30MB file to Google Drive, and in that time, nothing else worked, the whole line was consumed by the upload. * sigh *

Just to illustrate the difference. Both test done on the same B315 (Telkom Version) I spent a month of Sundays to figure out a way to change the firmware. Both methods on the Debranding Forum on MyBB didn't work for the latest Telkom firmware update.

So had to troll through some Russian and Filipino forums to figure out a way and installed a Middle East Firmware, which allowed my to use the E5186 API tool to set my router to TDD 2600MHz (disabled after one of the updates that Telkom released).

I am only getting 2 bars signal for 2600 and full signal for 1800.

1800Mhz Test:

2600MHz Test:

As you can see...quite a difference between the two.

Been trying to get a firmware update on my non Telkom B618-22d, but no luck to date.
Huawei_band_tool doesn't allow me access 2600 TDD....so fukcing annoying!

I don't understand why you are struggling because I have a a Huawei B618s-22d and run the Huawei band tool and able to change bands between band 3 and band 38.

Beats me too. I wonder if its because I'm on verge of signal according to RAIN/AH websites...?
I do manage btwn 5-20Mbps during off peak hours on band 3, although uploads are pathetically low, often 0.1 Mbps...

How do i check once I've set the bands that I'm using 38?

Well if you getting shockingly bad upload you are either on B38 or you are on the cell edge with B3 meaning you have very bad signal. With that Huawei band tool you can use SHOW_CURRENT_BAND.bat file to check what band is currently forced.

Problem is whenever I set it to just 2600 the signal is lost (redlight comes on)....so I suspect maybe I can't reach 2600.
Have you customised any of the scripts yourself?
Would appreciate if you could post the exact command you using to connect to dual band...

I haven't because the B618s-22d does not support it. If you force 2600MHz TDD only and it does not work then you are probably don't have 2600MHz coverage. To test you should probably force to B38 and drive around and see if it ever picks up coverage. If it does on another location you know it's not your router that is an issue.

Still in BB East London. Fixed Rain

Testing rain is pointless as the speedtest is much better than the actual speed you get.

SIM currently in an E392u-12, would probably get better speeds if I put it back in the B315
