Please do a MyBroadband speed test on Rain

Nah, this seems highly improbable. I don't know one happy customer with rain. They've all either left or are in the process of leaving. Im leaving too, they don't have stable connections or fix problems or even deduct payment on the day you've agreed upon. This must be fake. I don't believe this is real

rain 5G is da bomb! 4G is still chalked in our area but that's because of old copper lines. Fibre has been introduced but 5G is ripping. I set a record in my neighbourhood and I am very thankful for rain for making this possible in my area.

Rarely have downtime unless affected by power outages beyond loadshedding and when tower batteries are stolen but since switching to 5G have had at least 90% uptime.

I've grown so used to the freedom of not worrying about data bundles and now very high-speed internet I really hope this lasts forever and only gets better.

I want to only use rain even for my mobile sim needs and I don't need calls either but that option is now available.

Congestion remains a problem for some areas, unfortunately.

Please look up Stockholm syndrome. You keep going to dogwater ISP's. Next time you praise the rain, please include that you also used the other worst company in the country and you've never had good internet
rain is the best. no other provider compares value/price easy of signing up and managing your account and uncapped you can carry around.

Over 5 years and there is no competitor.

I don't think rain wants to deliver a congested product but they are just that popular and affordable.

Imagine if joburg had water and everyone was thirsty at the same time.

Do you work for rain? Im pretty sure this is fake. I've never had real internet with rain 5g.

No I don't work at rain. Before being known as that disgruntled Mustek reseller, I was known as that disgruntled rain customer.

We upgraded from 4G to 5G and no longer had issues.

ISP: rain
Ping: 25ms
Download: 200.7Mbps
Upload: 34.56Mbps

Biggest mistake Ive ever made is rain. I asked the agent whether there is coverage at my address and she said yes. I ordered rain and delivery was delayed because the order is on my husbands name but he has a hearing problem and cant hear the callers. I discussed this with the agent and we passed the phone between us for me to repeat the questions to hom so that he can answer. The courier co. called and point blank refused to speak to me to arrange for delivery. Long story but in the end rain arrived We have it for about 4 weeks now. Not a day goes by without us loosing signal. AND the signal is to weak for 5G and we must struggle with 2.4G. Stay away from rain. They make promises they cant keep.

Hi @AntiSuz,
Please provide me with your email via PM | https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/conversations/add?to=rain_mobile

Am i missing something, i looked through a few pages, and the speedtests posted is like 12mbit down and 3mbit up. Those are not even close to what HSDPA speeds is suppose to be.

7-8years ago we had HSDPA which 9 out of 10 times was around the 15mbit to 30mbit range. Some areas if you had great signal you could get upto 50mbit easily.

Then with 4G and the MIMO (mulitple antenna's and signal it started creaping towards more stable end of 30mbit to 80mbit.

5G should definitely only be upwards of 100mbit.

Now that looks like 5G speeds, anything over 100mbit to 150mbit or more. Then It seems worth it.

If you run this same speed test 10 random times during the week. what would the average be ?

I'd say average thru the day would be arou d 280-300 Mbps.

Can drop lower or higher, fastest I done was around 620Mbps.

Morning are typically faster than afternoon. Can drop by as much as 200Mbps, between these periods.

My network is severely congested at night to the point that it is totally unusable. From around 20h00 till 23h30 speeds are around 3-5mbps.

I am fortunate that even when some types go GAGGA on the tower I connect to, it seldom gets that bad.

Maybe just run a few tests at night. It seems its not the tower end of things. Seems to be more the backhaul transmission network is congested. Even Rain's Speedtest server last night was testing at 3-5mbps. Couldnt stream or do anything. Been happening a lot more often. Starting to consider other more reliable fibre options.
