Yep, seems like there's definitely something going down at the Telkom HQ.

My 384 connection has also picked up speed over the past few days.

Speed: 471.3 Kbps or 57.8 kBytes/sec

Last week:

Speed: 346.8 Kbps or 42.5 kBytes/sec

Thats quite a jump up.

Would be nice if it carried on like that.

Your line speed is approximately 450.2 Kbps or 55.2 kBytes/sec

I'm on 192... and I can see my little router light blinking to say it is downloading...

Nice ;-)

Package: HomeDSL192 with 2Gig cap
Download time: 13.031 seconds
Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
Estimated line speed: 313.1 (kilobits/second)
Estimated line speed: 38.4 (kiloBytes/second)

Umm, this may appear as strange but I've been getting these speeds for the last 2 days, after reaching my 2gig cap. :D

If you read up you'll see that many people are recieving speeds similar to the packages one level up, or in some cases two levels up! :p

Guys, just one thing that picked up at home. Make sure that your not accessing a cached copy of the page when you run the bandwidth test. I have a caching proxy on my network through which I connect to the internet and my line speed is significantly faster when I download through the proxy. The page must be cached on my proxy. Might get the same thing with your browser cache. But still faster than it should be after disabling the proxy and clearing my browser cache. :)

I think I should have expressed myself more clearly. What I mean is, that without the proxy I get speeds round about 270 kb/s when I do the speed test. But with the proxy, about 600 kb/s. You see, the proxy was enabled the first that I did the test and now that 500 kB file is cached.

Edit: HomeDSL 192

Well when are the 512 accounts going to be forceable upgraded.. seems all the other accounts are getting faster speeds than us that are paying for it.. I can understand how everyone is happy, but its a pain for the rest of us :(
