davemc are you suggesting that phone cable would work for networks? I have about 20m of phone cable (4 core) running next to a normal Cat5 cable, but am not using the phone cable for anything at the moment... I'd prefer to use that phone wire for the network if it would work, as the network cable stands out and looks bad whereas the phone cable is thin and has been painted over. So you can just crimp a RJ45 jack onto there and it should work?
