Hi all

Well i don't know id i'm in the right place posting this?! but here we go!

Right i'm selling my Cellphone on Olx and Gumtree atm,few responses but nothing major..

so i get this women that sent me this email the 1st time last week as follows

"" From: Barbara

I am interested in your item, contact me via barb01ra@(taken out for safety reasons) ""

so that was the 1st time, bout 2 days on no reply from her as i responded to her email, last night though i recieved this following email from her

"" Hello friend, Thanks for your mail and my sincere apology for the late reply it's because i was very busy. I want to buy this item for my daughter and i want you to ship this item directly to my daughter who is currently on an agricultural project in Nigeria she was posted there some months ago. I want this package to be her birthday gift. I am an American citizen but i am currently in Belize for a business purpose. My friend told me about OLX that it is easy to buy and ship world wide, so I will be making the payment via bank transfer. All I need now are this information to enable me make the payment as soon as possible. I will really appreciate it if you can send the gift to my daughter with South Africa Post office (SAPO) because my daughter birthday is fast approaching and i want her to receive this gift before her birthday.

1. Bank information ...
2. Transport cost to my daughter in Nigeria ....
3. Total cost .

I await your your quick response so I can make my payment for you to send it to my daughter.

Sincerely,
Barbara. ""

So question would be...do you think i should?is this maybe a trick ?!

Thanks!

Are you seriously considering that there is a snowballs chance that this is legitimate?

For one that got me wondering, she doesn't give her surname..

She gives way to much info "her daughter .. agricultural project in Nigeria" "she's an American citizen but in Belize atm''

plus,Nigeria would have the HTC HD2 available there to i'm sure of it..

Yeah, i would give that lady a skip - such a long convoluted story - a sign of something fishy.

Well Thanks all :)

Just wanted to make sure, knew something wasn't to lekker here..

Thanks for the quick replies

If you really want to be a bastard, play along - and keep posting in this thread.

lol, obvious scam, but when you wanna sell something and you're getting desperate your scam detection sense goes a bit wonky :P

If this woman is an american citizen on business you would expect some level of intellectual adequacy. From the email you can see that English isn't her/his first language. This is bull**** and you should stay as far away from it as possible.

That email is a load of waffle just slightly reworded.

You can trust the person if you wish, but you will most likely get bunt.

Walk away.

Belize?? That"s where all the scam artists go to after being caught out in the USA to continue their scams as the regulators are more than happy for foreign income.
They even allow South Africans to relocate there. As long as you got money though.

I'm afrikaans and that was one of the main things I noticed

I stopped reading at "hello friend"

if you guys are still falling for for this **** then I dunno...
