I want to wire up 2 sonoff mini's in the roof to 2 different lights on the same circuit. They both currently switch on from a single 2 gang switch where currently the hot live is bridged across the 1st gang and the 2nd gang. I can't pull another wire to the 2 gang switch. The wiring on the 2 mini's will mean that s1 will be shared between the 2 minis.
Could this configuration have an effect on either mini and how it operates? Each mini should still be able to operate as intended?

Can't be done then. For each light you need need a pair of wires connected to the 2 switch poles on the mini. So you need 4 wires coming from the gang. You can't use any common wires on the switch.

Hope all are well , So here is a small update on my Sonoff / home automation experience so far.
Had my electrition come in and guess what , All my light switches have neutral wires in them .
I installed about 15 sonoff switches for the lights (those switches that are not two way switches ) , One for the garage door and one for the driveway gate .
Next step i will be ordering a few more for those light switches that are two and three way . as well as those for the kitchen cabnets (those lights that shine on the floor along the edges of the cabnets ) Will also be installing them on the remaining garden lights circuits .
Installed one Sonoff camera to try out ( which links to the switch thats in that room) Its super awesome so I will be installing a few more of them in key areas of the house . Outside has been covered with the samsung cameras.
I love the two way talk and PTV movement feature of these cameras and the picture quality is awesome .
Also ordered two broadlink to try out before I invest in more , to control the tvs, aircons , dstv etc in the main bedroom and TV room .
I must say , this has become really addictive LoL
What im looking for now is some kind of program or way to intigrate , the Samsung cameras , the Sonoff switches , The Broadlink devices , the Sonoff camera , the Paradox alarm , all into one easy app .

Funny enough , I ordered two google home minis as well . Since we all have apple phones and apple has issues with google im told , we cant use the "Hay google feature" So thaught , I could try these little devices out . I have a feeling that the Samsung cameras may give me a problem though , Worst case , I will just use the Paradox alarm and the Samsung cameras on their own factory apps and everything else on the Google Assistant app . Will wait for these new items to come through and see how they work . I have already linked Google home to my E-we link , And i can control all of the sonoff devices from that app , although some show as plugs and some lights , even though all are minis . It does work .

Jokes aside, really interested in your experience with those gadgets and cameras and things. How easy they are to install and use etc.

The regulations specify 1.0 mm sq as the minimum wiring standard fro lights.
The wires for S1 and S2 are not 220v though, but I guess for an electrician to be happy it would be better to have S1 and S2 be at least 1mm to make the electrician happy.

Sorry for the delay , had so much on my mind these past few weeks , It works so well that iv decided to purchase a few more Google mini`s and Sonoff minis and Broadlinks when im able to . I really want google home hub as well and curtian motors .
So lets see , a little recap and background of what iv been up to . Im a complete novice at this and have been doing most of the work myself , so its mostly trial and error but I seem to be getting most things right.
I started off by running cat 6 Network cable all over the house; I have the piping in the walls already for this purpose so it wasn’t that difficult to do.
Also ran cat 6 cable from the CCTV DVR to all the rooms so that I could get the HDMI signal from the Box to the TVS ( I haven’t gotten around to completing this task yet) HDMI over Ethernet Equipment is sooo pricy.
My network
I have an Ubiquity Edge router connected to the Fibre ONT? (Forgot what that’s called) from the edge router I have a cat6 cable running to a 48 port cisco switch. From the switch I have cat6 cables running to all the rooms , areas in the house for the tvs , Dstv , PS4 , Android TV box , alarm system , CCTV system etc whatever has a network port and needs an internet connection . I also have cable running from the switch to a few Ubiquity unifi LR devices placed on the ceilings and walls around the house so I could get full home wifi coverage as well as some garden coverage. I also repurposed my old Linksys Cisco router so that I could make use of its 5ghz and 2.4 ghz signal ( Will explain why I did this later)
The wiring that goes from the Sonoff mini to the switch does not carry much of a current; My electrician used wire from some of my left over Cat 6 cable. He tells me that it’s just a switch now , more like a push button of sort , there’s really almost no current flowing through it , so far its worked beautifully . I love that the switch can still be used as a normal switch.
I have one sonoff ( with the inching function ) for the garage door , ( the existing remotes still work as normal ) This I wired up to the remote receiver so it saves me time from having to open up the garage door motor case to get to the board.
I have one sonoff ( with the inching function) for the Driveway gate , (Existing remotes still work as well as the handsets in the bedrooms ) This I wired up to the main driveway gate handset in the house , So there’s no need to have it near the gate motor itself . Good for wifi signal in the house and protected from the weather even though its in its box.
I had my electrician wire around 15 sonoff minis so far to various switches around the house , ( its very important that you place the black flat antenna close to the switch itself or well further away from the inside of the wall for good wifi signal)
Now back to my old router , I noticed that the Sonoff devices had trouble connecting to my Ubiquity Unifi devices , I connected the old router for its 2.4ghz thereafter the devices and were able to connect to the network and once set up , seem to be connecting to the Unifi devices without any problem . I don’t know why they did this but it worked so im happy.
I have two Google Home minis and two broad link IR transmitters.
The Broadlinks are used in the main bedroom to control the TV, Air conditioner, DSTV , Media player , and Android box .
And in the other room to control the air conditioner and Tv.
Each room has a Google Home Mini . I linked the home minis to the Sonoff Devices and the Broadlink devices, Which in turn allows me to control everything by voice or through my cell phone from the Home minis.
Everything works perfectly, Surprisingly there are no real delays at all . From command to execution, its done within a second or two . The same applies to when im away from home . Execution it seamless thus far.
Broadlink allows one to also link up to siri which is kind of cool , So I set up a few commands for siri as well and they can control any device that’s IR so I may add a few other devices to it as time goes on .
The Sonoff camera , I have set up using the Sonoff Ewelink app , I don’t know how to integrate it into Google Home so im using it through that and it seems to be working fine . Its an excellent little camera with really good sound , voice and picture quality , The pan and tilt function is super quiet as well and very responsive . The one thing though is that you have to press the button on your screen for it to move , you can’t just hold down the button and watch it move . But it works well and I cant fault it . The IR picture is excellent as well . Very clear and crisp.
I have 3 apps on my I phone, Ewelink for the Sonoff , Google Home , and Broadlink
Shared this with family members and they have them on their I phones as well under their own profiles.
Everything can be run from the Google home app , although the individual apps seem to give you a little more functionality and you must have them on in order to link them to the Google home app.
I can’t seem to find Google assist on the App store, but it seems to be integrated into the google home app.
The minis control everything that the Google home app has and more by voice.
It was really easy to set up , I mean really simple I can’t believe how simple it was to set up , all you have to do is follow the instructions on the screen and the apps do everything for you . Once the individual apps have been set up . All you have to do is link them to your Google Home app and everything then appears on the google home app, you then assign the devices to rooms in the app. The Minis automatically set themselves up as well. They also recognise different people by their voice and seem to adapt to those individuals. Iv also found that the Broadlink actually does a better job at being a remote then the actual remote that came with my Colour changing LED light that I have behind the TV .
Its soo easy to use , I mean , my 5 year old niece now walks into my room , says Hay google , turn on the lights , or Tv etc and it executes the command instantly . Its amazing how well this works.
I still have a lot to do , and a lot that I want to do , though but will keep you guys updated as I progress with this system . Oh and Load shedding hasn’t affected the components yet haha , we had our first one yesterday and another today .

An update so far , everything seems to be working well thus far , I have had one mini in the scullery that sort of stopped working , the light is on but it just stopped , I removed it , havnt gotten around to replacing it . I have noticed the one light in the main bathroom sometimes switches on and off , I was told that it could be interference , and that I should add a resister to the line that goes from the mini to the wall switch . Just purchased a 4CHR3 for my fishtank lights . Soo attach 4 LED tubes to the box and I can wifi control them and replace the light timer with this . Very impressed thus far with these sonoff devices .

Hi, I have a few sonoff basics and minis installed.
It is possible to use the push button switch to control a remote sonoff in addition to the local one?
i.e., if I press the button, the local light and another remote light will be switched? Doesn't seem like the push button switch can be used as a trigger for a scene?
