Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Screwed up my Iphone 3gs

Anyone please help me .I have an Iphone 3gs 32gb Imported from US(AT&T).Which came with os 3.1.2(blackra1n).Recently I upgraded to 4.1 with custom firmware 4.1 created using sn0wbreeze 2.1.Everything was fine until i decided to sell my iphone and pressed reset(Erase all content and settings)and i just wanted to erase my personal data before I can sell it.Now my phone is stuck at apple logo.If i press power and home button for long it shows apple logo only,I tried running sn0wbreeze again but after some attempts it says your phone is in dfu mode and can restore in itunes but itunes doesnot show my phone it says cant connect to internet pls check your internet settings(I have switched the internet off)Now I am stuck it just shows a black screen no activity(like completely switched off,but just gives me the connect/disconnect sound when i connect/disconnect to my computer,(Itunes could not contact the iphone software update server because you are not connected to the internet).Please help if you have any suggestions.Pls pls help me.Thanks in advance

Location? You need to get it to DFU mode and restore a 4.1 image which has been customized with the 0.6.15.00 baseband from the iPad using Pwnagetool. I can help (Pretoria or Joburg area)

If you do that with a SIM card in the iPhone it hackivates it for you! Although then you face the battery drain issue, which can still be circumvented using SAM.

thanks for the reply when iconnect my iphone with internet it shows in recovery mode and press shift restore and selecting the custom firmware it extracts but(I switch off internet)saying it failed as it cant connect to update server.Any suggestions(I hope that i have my shsh blobs saved in cydia (ipressed make my life easier).Please advice

Can I use redsn0w since i used sn0wbreeze last time and how i do it ,pls explain

Just launch redsn0w and click "enter pwned DFU mode" - it puts your iPhone in a mode which accepts custom/modfied IPSW files.

Ok Itried the same in sn0mbreeze and phone looks completely blank,and with internet connection it detects iphone but when I select custom firmware with itunes it wants to check with apple server which i dont allow(Not Sure to allow it)then it fails due to unable to connect.Thats where I am stuck nowits with sn9wbreeze which Im used last time for update.

If You save your SHSH file with Cydia you can use Tinyumbrella to to see if you save the files and to retrieve the files from Cydia and resotre to IOS4.1 then JB and Unlock.

How i do it Because Tinyumbrella doesn't work on my windows 7 pc it always gives a java runtime error.My shsh file was saved while i was on 3.1.2 not when on 4.1(As I used custom firmware it did not update base band.Hope that I will get an answer

I just went through the exact same procedure last week with my 3G. Only managed to jailbreak & unlock it by Friday.

Important steps:

Pull the original 4.1 OS "iPhone1,2_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw"
Hack it with Redsn0w_win_0.9.6b6 (it takes you through recovery/dfu mode step by step)
Upgrade your baseband to 06.15 (you'll need this to remove the network lock) 5.14.02 is full of nonsense.
In Cydia, install Repo666 and reboot. This actually does the unlock. Now the stuff up here is I needed a wifi connection to install repo666, since your sim won't work yet. Try any wifi link you can get your hands on - even if you have to go to mugg&bean.

Mine's running like a dream now and picks up MTN 3G no problem.

Correct, you lose you GPS unfortunately. Quite irritating! It's not a tethered jailbreak. If you have an old bootrom try to keep the old baseband with pwnagetool (OK I know you don't have a Mac!).

I have basically the same situation with my 3GS. Luckily mine is an O2 UK model, and O2 offers an unlocking service! And looks like they're working on a way to downgrade from the iPad baseband. ->

Ok I have a doubt If i allow internet connection after selecting my custon ios 4.1 and itunes tries to restore from it will it work or fail sine it may check to apple server for the firwware signature etc,So how can use redsn0w or sn0wbreeze to restore from that in itunes or is the only option left for me is to allow apple update to latest firmware then use resn0w to restore from ipad firmware which is very difficult to loose gps etc.Pls clarify

Well redsn0w put my phone into a mode which restored it correctly, my internet was on. Don't update your iPhone.

We also need more info - what baseband are you currently on, is it a new or old bootrom? Do you have an AT&T SIM card (it helps). Sorry but unlocking iPhones is complex sometimes, especially the 3GS.

Thanks everyone.
I could successfully restore my custom firmware created using sn0wbreeze and my Iphone is back up.
I tried many times to restore from my pc but always got some kind of error,I almost gave up all hope ,thought of updating to ipad firmware ,tried my luck in another pc which never had itunes installed previously,thank god it was successful and unlocked using ultrasn0w.hope it helps someone .Thanks once again for all suggestions
