Performance - Much better since I upgraded to a 1 Mbps line. What bugs me is that even with a 1mb line, some videos still buffer a lot.

Support - Never had to use support.

Value for money - Great! I get 11GB for R99 thanks to a special they had a while back. Would like it they offer top-ups at R19 per GB like Axxess. But they do have the 2 for 1 top ups at the end of the month....

Overall I am very satisfied

I make use of various Afrihost services, including ADSL, dedicated hosting, and cloud hosting and have found them to be a pleasure to work with. The ADSL is stable and well priced, so there is nothing to complain about.

Always get great support from Afrihost. I do, however, find that my Telkom account's performance is better than my Afrihost one (20gigs with Telkom, and a 20gig capped account with Afrihost, which is supposedly unshaped...)

For gaming, I usually switch to my Telkom account, get better pings on that...

Peformance - excellent
Support - can be improved slightly, no major issues.
Value for money - specials are really great but needs to cut a bit on standard pricing.
Overall - 4 / 5

I'm with Afrihost for over two years now and I've never had an issue with them.
Their speeds are good and very reliable connectivity.

There customer service is one of the best in the country.. if not the best.
I've moved my Telkom line over to them in November, which only took 1 week with no downtime.

Afrihost won the best ISP of the Year for 2011 and they deserve the title again. However, Afrihost can improve ADSL by increasing the speed from 384kbps to 4Mbps without increasing subscription costs.

i have an afrihost account and trust me when their support team has to deal with me it ain't easy :D i'm not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree when it comes to things like this. they just make me understand in preschool talk :D.

Performance
I cannot complain about performance issues because I've never had any. In fact, performance in terms of speed and latency have been pretty consistent and on the good side.

Support
Their support is unparalleled; truly. And here I would like to site examples of the extent of their support:
- one evening, their technical support helped me with troubleshooting my connection, until 2am the morning; that is dedication right there. And they called me the next day to follow up on whether everything was still ok.
- I signed up with them in the evening, after 8; they activated my account within 20 minutes

Value for money
Definitely value for money in terms of what you are paying for what they are offering; couldn't find similar offers anywhere.

Overall satisfaction
I'm more than happy with them.

Uncapped - stay away from Afrihost, but if you buy Capped they are awesome - I get DL speeds of 800kBYTES/s

Performance - I moved to Afrihost recently and I have found improvements in speed (obviously) over my previous uncapped account. Very satisfied.

Support - From my initial enquirey to my signing up for the account, it was all brilliant. Most of it can be done online and the control panel makes it easy to order more GBs if you reach your cap... from anywhere.

Value for Money - They may not be the cheapest but the few Rand extra is definitely worth the service you get.

I'm happy with my choice.

Performance - get the speeds advertised, up time very good (I am on a 4Mbps capped account)

Support - only had to call a couple of times, great support in promised time

Value for money - definitely best value for money.

Overall satisfaction - Excellent

Latency 54 ms Excellent

I am a "HAPPY CHAPPIE" Thanks Afrihost !

Performance: Find the speed and latency poor - much faster on same line when I switch over to WA
Support: Good quick support
Value for money: excellent value for money
Overall satisfaction: Good backup account but find it too slow otherwise

ADSL 384k with 1 gig free Afrihost acc

Performance - get the speeds advertised, I am on a 1Mbps uncapped account

Support - only had to call a couple of times, great support in promised time

Value for money - definitely and the top-ups late in the month always come in handy

Overall satisfaction - Excellent

All the times I had to send off an email re a query or so, it was answered within a reasonable amount of time (usually before COB), and the staff is friendly and courteous.

No issues with speed or latency ~ except the odd times when seacom pops a fuse.

Performance - Speed is good

Support - Haven't needed support much, been great when needed.

Value for money - Great specials, I like the oddball ones too e.g. 11GB for R11 on 11/11/11 at 11:11.

Overall satisfaction - Excellent

Performance - Performance on my uncapped 384Kb account was decent. Always got max speed. When I switched to a 4Mbps account(50GB) and then also 4Mbps (10GB) the performance was ALWAYS there. Really decent setup with good latencies. In Word of Warcraft I got solid pings of 200-250ms and sometimes it would dip to just under 200ms. (I live in Centurion)

Support - I've communicated only a few times with Afrihost support but it was always a good experience. Whether it be accounts or actual technical support the staff on call always seemed to know what they were talking about and I never got into a situation where the staff sounded like they were making excuses for anything.

Value for money - Awesomely satisfactory (only way I can put it) Afrihost has always been competitive in the pricing department. I've always come back to these guys, even when trying out other ISPs. The end of the month topups are also a really nice way of doing things and as subscribers we get something out of it that we don't get at other ISPs.

Overall satisfaction - I would marry off my daughters to Afrihost if they were a boy. Fantastic all round and 3 thumbs up.

Other ISPs now have a role model. :-D

How can Afrihost make me even happier? More of those awesome specials they run. It always feels like their specials are a cut above the rest but some more regular versions of these would be nice!!

Afrihost, capped on 4 Meg DSL

All in all I think the value for money Afrihost provides is unrivalled as of yet. The performance for me has always been nothing less than excellent, I have never had to phone support as I would just send them an e-mail and they would sort the very few problems I had out.

This is why I rate Afrihost should get a 5.

performance: Very good
support: Very good
value for money excellent
overall satisfaction Outstanding
how Afrihost can improve to make you a happier customer They should make their web online support pages iPad friendly. When my connection was down, I was unable to access the support pages through my laptop and so tried to use my iPad with 3G but could not access all of the pages / links.

I have been with Afrihost for 10 years. I honestly cannot think of anything they could do to make me happier.

Been with Afrihost for a number of years now, they were the first to reduce costs and kept inline with the uncapped revolution. Customer service has been awesome and the website is updated often wrt to network outages etc.

They could improve by offering bundled services at less cost.
