Performance - get the speeds advertised, uptime very good (I am on a 1Mbps capped account)

Support - used only once ever, great support in promised time

Value for money - definitely and the top-ups late in the month always come in handy

Overall satisfaction - Excellent

I am very happy with Afrihost as my ISP. They have been extremely helpful with any problems that I have had and support has been immediate and thorough. I am especially happy that they have taken over control of any dealings that I would normally need to have with Telkom.
Put plainly, Afrihost have made my life that little bit easier and for this I am grateful. My internet experience is about as close to problem free as I think it can possibly be. Love it!

Performance: The service is great, except for cable problems which are beyond their control, I never have any issues. Happy here.

Support: Response times are great, but I feel that the Support Consultants do not always listen to or grasp what you query is and I have on more than one occasion had to reply and tell them that they response didn't address my query.

Value for money: Nothing to complain about here. Well done Afrihost.

Other: I have had more than one account with Afrihost for web hosting, etc. Find it difficult when it comes to cancelling, process isn't always seamless and clear in terms of charges and I have struggled with their "No Nonsense Guarantee" situation, not always honoured and have had to fight about this.

Overall Satisfaction: Happy, few hiccups are less than the value so not even considering changing at the moment. Keep up the good work, but always look for ways to improve and you will come out tops!!

Performance: Subscribed to their 50gb unshaped account and performance is at 90%-100% of line speed (in my case 10mb). Doesn't get better than that. Pings to local servers around 11ms so no issues there either

Support: Have seldom had reason to make use of support but on the few occasions that I have they were exemplary in handling my queries.

Value for money: At R9-50 per gb for unshaped bandwidth I would say value for money is outstanding.

Overall satisfaction: Very happy

Must make mention of their online user interface. It is easily the best in the business. To open and close accounts is incredibly easy, to check usage stats etc seamless. Add to that the 1gb free accounts they offer and really, they are still a company at the forefront of ADSL development and innovation in SA regardless of how poorly their uncapped accounts perform.

Performance: Never have any problem with speed or latency

Support: Only used their support line once. Problem solved within 5 minutes.

Value for money: Good range. Always have the best specials. Other ISP's can learn from them.

The only thing they could do (although this goes for all ISP's) is introduce a bigger capped account. Something like 40gigs at a reasonable price.

Performance
Very good.

Support
I've never needed it. Their control panel is good.

Value for money
Very good. Probably the best in South Africa. I can't think of any way in which they can improve. Giving anymore value will probably result in running at a loss, and them going under eventually, and we definitely don't want that.

Use 384 capped as a backup account

Performance
Performance is very good

Support
Did not need support as yet. Signing up process was satisfactory

Value for money
Good

Overall satisfaction
Very good

performance (speed and latency) - As good as any other I've tried
support - Not needed yet. Website is great for self-service options. SMS top-up is useful, but sporadic - the SMS only seems to arrive once, ie no SMS arrives when your top-up runs out to allow you to top up again
value for money - Good
overall satisfaction - All pretty much works as it should

I'm in 384kbps uncapped. There was a time a couple months ago when I was seriously considering upgrading my line speed, as things were horribly slow, torrents were horribly shaped, etc.

Nowadays, I have no complaints. Everything behaves pretty damn well, YouTube videos still stream a fair bit but not as much as I would've expected, and even torrent speeds can hit as high as 40Kbps sometimes. I'm impressed!

What they could do to improve? Upgrade everyone on 384kbps to 512kbps at no charge (and convince Telkom to do the same with their lines). :p

Great ISP,

-Support is excellent generally, every company can always improve on their support however in their case not very much. Great after hours support.

- Speeds from the unshaped accounts are exactly as expected

- Price is great, Wish they were rather similar to international standards but cant blame afrihost for this, Also they often run amazing specials.

How can afrihost improve?

- Build your own network which honestly is not easy and i understand why this hasnt been done
- Continue to bring down costs for clients.
- Keep pushing Icasa and Telkom to do LLU which hopefully in many years time we can have huge benefits.

If you are an Afrihost ADSL subscriber, please rate them on performance (speed and latency), support, value for money and overall satisfaction

Please also tell us how Afrihost can improve to make you a happier customer.

I am on the 384kb/s uncapped account.

My speed is up to standard, support is great, good value for money and I am satisfied with the overall performance.

I would be very happy if the 384kb/s uncapped account could be bumped to 1mb/s, even with a slight increase in price. At the moment the price is too high for my liking (and pocket ) !!!

Thank you very much for a very good internet experience.

Account: 384Kbps Uncapped + Line

Performance: Very Good

Support: Excellent

Value for Money: Excellent - And it is here where Afrihost stands out for me. They always update and upgrade their products to be competitive in the market.

Overall: Very Satisfied

Performance: 8/10 was worse before moving to is uncapped account
Support: 8/10
Value: 9/10

On Afrihost, I got the best latencies I've ever had on a capped account in gaming. So performance wise, they are excellent!

There support is very good. Every time I have contacted them with account related queries, I got a response in less than 20mins.

I also love their 2 for 1 top-up deals at the end of the month. Sometimes there was a few more updating / downloading that needed to happen throughout the month, but when you get to the end of it, you don't have to squeeze your pockets. 2-for-1 \o/

Afrihost is the 3rd ISP I've used and so far has given me the best experience yet.

The only thing I can think of that they can improve is to get a 'freezone' type service like WebAfrica. To be able to update Steam or obtain certain game patches for free, is awesome and probably the only reason why I still have a WebAfrica account.

My favorite isp by far !

excellent service and always great speeds.

There specials are awesome and i always make use of their 2 for 1 top ups !

Overall I am pleased to be an Afrihost customer. :)

Their performance is basically tied to Telkom's performance regarding connection speed so I cannot adequately comment on that.

However from a value for money perspective I think Afrihost is the leading ISP in South Africa.

As for improvements I would hope that the keep on innovating new marketing ideas tied to customer satisfaction & value.:D
