I've been happy with the service but wish they would offer me an upgrade to 512kbps at good value - either a bundle or uncapped to assist with upgrading. All the good deals they do are for new customers and exclude existing customers.
Don't have too much to gripe about. Works as advertised. However I think if you dare put their prices up like their other subsidiary (mnet / Multichoice) does I'll be saying goodbye fast.
Service is excellent, but some websites doesn't want to open on the first go, you have to reload the page for it to work, and this problem is extremely difficult to explain to a technician at Mweb... an examle is www.news24.com...
I have been an MWEB subscriber for many years, I have a 1Mb uncapped line - I find customer support and sales support excellent. Not very happy with speed. I check my speed regularly and in the last few weeks my speed has varied between 128k to about 800k. Never higher and the average is around 600k - not really what I was expecting.
But I probably will not change from MWEB - I think that they are a reliable service.
Tried Axxess uncapped before I tried Mweb uncapped and MWEB WINS HANDS DOWN!!! Their customer service is brilliant, you can even get your problem solved if you tweet to them if you don't feel like waiting on the phone. The uncapped option is brilliant! Even the 1mb uncapped internet is perfect for anyone who wants the best uncapped and marketed ADSL service in South Africa. They flipped that company upside down. Brilliant. Mweb set the bar and have kept that bar where it was when they came out with uncapped options. Come at us Other ISPS!
10/10 for MWEB (4mbps uncapped).
Connection is stable and works BETTER than I expect it to. Seriously. Cannot fault them.
I download, game surf, YouTube, etc... a lot. No issues.
Apart for the International hiccups we had a while ago there is just no complaints wit Mweb's service or experience. Their shaping has improved dramatically for the better and the overall experience is superb.
For further improvement all I can say is that they may improve streaming functions considerably and console gaming by trying to establish lower ping "pipes" for International gaming as a whole even if we have to additionally subscribe to them for a fee.
